Answer:	This an old question, but would like to share my experience with using miter saws for cutting steel. Assuming you used the proper blade for cutting steel and other metals there are two considerations, heat and sparks. Trying to use some miter saws that were design for mainly cutting wood you get sparks bouncing back at you and the Kerf plate is usually plastic which will melt from the heat.

Question:	how thick will this cut
Answer:	I would say 1:4, if you are cutting porcelain that thick take it slow, natural stone will cut easier. I highly recommend this saw, I use it for small jobs, it’s really great in tight spaces. In my opinion it’s the better of the smaller wet saws as I prefer a rolling table for more accurate cuts. I however use an MK on my bigger jobs and large format tile and stone and it’s a beast with no limitations but cost about 10x what this saw cost. I do a lot of baths and kitchens and I love it!
Question:	Alway problems substituting other brand blades - and can't find PC replacement blades - can anyone confirm good to excellent substitute
Answer:	I've tried several after market blades with this saw. The problem I've experienced is the original PC blade produces a slightly wider cut, allowing the tile to get past the guard support in the back. The blades I've tried produce a thinner cut that prevent the tile from passing around the guard support. I'll try the Pearl P4 7 inch to see if it works, although 50$ is a gamble I'd rather not bet on.

Answer:	It can cut glass but without buying a blade specifically for glass tiles you might be disappointed. Every tile installer I know has several different blades always on hand for the abundance of materials thrown at him. Glass Master is a good glass blade and manual cutters often do excellent. With the stock blade you will get some chipping along the cut. Which could be polished out with extra effort. If you can handle chipping go for it.

Question:	Is the current model that is shipping type 1 or type 20. If you look up the parts diagram the type 20 has a different slide mechanism part number
Answer:	I bought a new one today from a lumberyard and it is a Type 1. (says right on the sticker on the motor) Not sure if that means the slide mechanism is better or worse than the Type 20. I would assume it was made in 2014 because there is a "Dewalt use only" tag on the box which starts with 2014. Not sure if a "fresher" saw is a Type 20

Answer:	mmToolparts actually sells a kit (3 proprietary DeWalt parts + their wiring harness) for less than $70. They have videos on their website that show how to install the parts on DW716, DWS779, and DWS782 saws. You will need some additional tools (torx screw drivers or torx bits, wire strippers/cutter/crimper) and somewhat mechanically inclined. Just google "DWS779 xps light kit" and they should be the top result. This might be an easier option versus going to a DeWalt service center in the post pandemic world.

Answer:	It does not come with any laser for guidance. You may find my answer a bit crude, I've been using miter saws for many years and the best guiding system I found to work is my/your eyes. Having lasers or no lasers you still need to use your eyes to get the work piece spot on near the cutoff point. Hope this helps!

Answer:	You can add the LED light to this saw. Not a laser but a shadow light that show exactly where the saw blade will cut. I just did it last night. Parts can be had for about $70. This basically turns it into a model 780 which is much more expensive. Pretty simple to add.

Answer:	Yes, it will work. I own this saw and have ripped 24" tile within 1/16" accuracy. You'll just need to take it slow given the thickness of your tile. The blade that comes with it is quite capable, however I eventually switched mine out for a Pearl P4. Excellent saw and a pleasure to use.

Answer:	No, there is no way to put 14" blade.
Question:	Is the battery and charger included
Answer:	I used it to cut through the edge of a driveway with no rebar at that point, and it went through it like butter!! I bought the adapter with the 12 amp breaker in it (which at the time Amazon did not say that it was 12A) and it blew a lot. If you keep light pressure on the blade, the breaker won't blow, as soon as you lean into it and load up the motor, it blows the 12A. If you have 15 or 20A breakers (or fuses) in your system, you should be good. Just know where your fuse/breaker box is, and be prepared to replace/reset them if its 15A. I don't see a reason this would not cut through rebar, just beware of sparks. If you cut dry like they say, you will create a dust cloud to end all dust clouds. Use water.

Question:	How long does it take to setup? And, is it easy to put bag in its bag
Answer:	it does not take long at all to assemble and it folds easily to return to the bag. This product makes it convenient to set up the saw in the room you are working in instead of having to go outside to make your cuts because of the mess.
Question:	Will this fit a Dewalt saw with the trays attached and cut/rip a 24" tile
Answer:	Although I haven’t used it yet, I bought this to fit the same 10” Dewalt saw that it sounds like you’re speaking of. With the x-large dimensions being 47”x 60”x 62” it should handle that saw just fine. For that matter if you use the tent you shouldn’t even need the side tray. Take some measurements of your saw w/ 24” tile and see what you think.
Question:	How do you get rid of the water once your done using it
Answer:	we just clean it up with a sponge , there isn't a lot of water on the floor pan !
Question:	Is the base able to stop excess water from getting on the floor
Answer:	Yes. The base has a strong pvc-like lining material which prevents water from exiting the tile shack. However, excess water remaining in the pan should be removed before packing up the unit.

Question:	Can i mount the axtra 8-outlet power strip on the table saw
Answer:	We do not recommend modifications on our tools as they are designed to work as is. If you are meaning plugging it in to a 8 outlet powers strip: that is not recommended. This unit should be plug into a direct outlet of using the appropriate extension cord ( VOLTS, LENGTH and WIRE GAUGE)
Question:	What are the dimensions of the unit on the stand when closed up. WxHxD? Need to know if it will fit in the storage cubby I have in the garage
Answer:	Laid down flat - 27 1/2" wide, 46" long (you can take about 3" off this by using the shorter handle length slots), 25" high with rail on (21 1/2" with it off). You can stand it up or lay it down - either works.
Question:	Does this saw accept dado blade set
Answer:	Yes, you will need the Dado Throat Plate which is DeWalt Part Number DWE7402D1. Per DeWalt, do not attempt to stack dado blades thicker than 13/16" (20 mm). Do not use dado blades larger than 8" (200 mm) diameter. Since dado cuts are not thru-cuts, the cuts must be performed with the blade guard assembly removed. To remove the blade guard assembly, pull riving knife/blade guard release lever and pull up on the guard or riving knife to remove. When using the dado, the special dado insert (also sold as an accessory) must be used.
Question:	How good would this saw be for a beginning woodworker on a limited budget
Answer:	It's a great saw. It has some safety features that I love. If you have a limited budget I would recommend that you stave for a couple of days and buy this saw. It is bulky and it's gonna cost you a little over $600 out the door but it's worth it. Remember when buying tools try to buy the best you can find. You don't want a cheap tool to stop working in the middle of the day.
