8 best table saw with lasers

A table saw with lasers is a power tool designed for precision cutting of wood, metal, or other materials. It is a versatile and highly accurate tool commonly used in woodworking, carpentry, and construction. The inclusion of lasers in table saws adds an extra layer of accuracy and convenience for users. Here's what you need to know about table saws with lasers:

  1. Basic Table Saw Functionality: A table saw is a stationary saw with a circular blade that protrudes through the surface of a flat table. The user feeds the material to be cut through the blade, allowing for controlled and precise cuts.

  2. Laser Guide: The laser guide on a table saw is a feature that projects a thin, visible laser line onto the workpiece. This laser line indicates the path the blade will follow during the cut, helping users align the material with precision.

  3. Accuracy: The laser guide enhances the accuracy of cuts by providing a clear visual reference point. It allows users to make straight cuts, miter cuts, and bevel cuts with greater confidence and accuracy.

  4. Types of Lasers: There are different types of laser guides used in table saws. Some saws have single-line lasers that provide a reference line for basic straight cuts. Others may have dual-line lasers, which can indicate both the kerf (the path the blade will cut) and the exact cutting line.

  5. Adjustability: Many table saws with lasers allow users to adjust the position of the laser guide to match the blade's current alignment. This ensures that the laser accurately represents the cutting path.

  6. Safety: While lasers on table saws enhance accuracy, users must still follow safety guidelines and use protective equipment like safety goggles and push sticks when operating the saw. The laser does not replace the need for safe work practices.

  7. Applications: Table saws with lasers are valuable tools for a wide range of applications, including cutting lumber for construction, making precise cuts for cabinetry and furniture, and creating intricate woodwork.

  8. Additional Features: Some table saws with lasers come with other features like dust collection systems, blade guards, and adjustable fences to further enhance their usability and safety.

  9. Power Source: Table saws can be powered by electricity, making them versatile for use in workshops and job sites with access to power outlets.

In summary, a table saw with lasers is a power tool that combines the accuracy and convenience of laser guidance with the cutting capabilities of a table saw. This tool is highly valuable for professionals and DIY enthusiasts who require precision in their woodworking and cutting projects, making it easier to achieve clean and accurate cuts with confidence.

User questions & answers

Question: Will this fit a craftsman 10-inch radial arm saw that is about 30 years old
Answer: The UK version (Bosch GCM 12 GDL Professional) ships with an included non battery powered laser that produces two lines that bracket the saw kerf. Not sure why Bosch made the laser layout tool an extra for USA version. There are other differences between these models and the UK 240V version has more options as stardard equipment.
Question: Hitachi C10FCE
Answer: Yes, it has a depth stop. The saw cuts very nice and it glides effortlessly, u must adjust the drag on it. When cutting dadoes, it does not hang up like rail type saws when the fine dust finds its way into the rail bearings like the Dewalt I used to use. It was an expensive investment in a saw, but i really like it so much more then any of my previous sliding compound saws.
Question: Will this fit a dw-710 (8" blade) raidial arm
Answer: Best miter saw you can buy. Doesn't matter where it was made
Question: will this fit on a Dewalt DW715 12" type 3 miter saw
Answer: SGT .several reasons i chose this saw over the 5312. first off I run a high end custom cabinet shop and this saw sees very heavy uses. The sliding rails on the type of the Bosh 5312 always get dust in the bearings and with time the sliding action sticks and must be taken apart, the bearings cleaned and re-lubed with dry silicone lubricant. That is what my experience was with my last 3 sliding saws, (Dewalt, Ryobe and Dewalt pro). the other thing i love about the Bosch GCM12SD its there are no rails sticking out the back of the saw, and the clearance from the wall where my saw sits is no longer needed. It was a great investment even though its on the pricy side. i love the accuracy and the performance, I change to a better cutting blade and the performance got better. I switch from the stock blade and now run a Forrest CM12806115 Chopmaster 12 inch 80 tooth blade cleaner cuts and very smother with no tear outs. i hope this helps you

Oshlun Laser Guides (LG-M01 and LG-R01)

Our 2nd generation laser guide is the easiest and best way to turn your saw into a precision cutting machine. Installation is fast and easy, simply replace the outer blade flange with the laser guide unit. There are no confusing parts or adjustments. The new design provides a brighter, more accurate line on the left of the saw blade kerf and improves safety by showing you where the blade will cut well before reaching the material. The centrifugal switch activates the laser automatically.

Notes: Will not fit some 12" saw models that have interlocking arbor flanges, including some Ridgid, ProTech and Hitachi saws (see LG-M01 installation note below for more details). If your saw has a 5/8" threaded arbor shaft and uses a nut to secure the blade, use model #LG-R01.

Item #LG-M01 Installation Note: The arbor recess on the laser guide is made to fit many machines and may have some amount of play when mounted. To address the universal arbor recess, when installing the laser guide, once it is placed on the arbor you can rotate it slightly which will allow the laser guide to self-center on the end of the arbor shaft prior to tightening down. In some cases such as 12" machines and those with metric arbor sizes, the blade adapter or inside arbor flange washer can protrude past the blade body preventing the laser guide from tightening down fully on the blade. Often this compatibility issue can be overcome by utilizing a full kerf blade, or if needed, a thinner blade adapter on your machine.

Warning: Read and follow all instructions that came with your saw. Never look directly into the laser beam. Do not use if the laser guide does not secure the blade properly.

User questions & answers

Question: Can i mount the axtra 8-outlet power strip on the table saw
Answer: We do not recommend modifications on our tools as they are designed to work as is. If you are meaning plugging it in to a 8 outlet powers strip: that is not recommended. This unit should be plug into a direct outlet of using the appropriate extension cord ( VOLTS, LENGTH and WIRE GAUGE)
Question: What are the dimensions of the unit on the stand when closed up. WxHxD? Need to know if it will fit in the storage cubby I have in the garage
Answer: Laid down flat - 27 1/2" wide, 46" long (you can take about 3" off this by using the shorter handle length slots), 25" high with rail on (21 1/2" with it off). You can stand it up or lay it down - either works.
Question: Does this saw accept dado blade set
Answer: Yes, you will need the Dado Throat Plate which is DeWalt Part Number DWE7402D1. Per DeWalt, do not attempt to stack dado blades thicker than 13/16" (20 mm). Do not use dado blades larger than 8" (200 mm) diameter. Since dado cuts are not thru-cuts, the cuts must be performed with the blade guard assembly removed. To remove the blade guard assembly, pull riving knife/blade guard release lever and pull up on the guard or riving knife to remove. When using the dado, the special dado insert (also sold as an accessory) must be used.
Question: How good would this saw be for a beginning woodworker on a limited budget
Answer: It's a great saw. It has some safety features that I love. If you have a limited budget I would recommend that you stave for a couple of days and buy this saw. It is bulky and it's gonna cost you a little over $600 out the door but it's worth it. Remember when buying tools try to buy the best you can find. You don't want a cheap tool to stop working in the middle of the day.

User questions & answers

Question: Is the current model that is shipping type 1 or type 20. If you look up the parts diagram the type 20 has a different slide mechanism part number
Answer: I bought a new one today from a lumberyard and it is a Type 1. (says right on the sticker on the motor) Not sure if that means the slide mechanism is better or worse than the Type 20. I would assume it was made in 2014 because there is a "Dewalt use only" tag on the box which starts with 2014. Not sure if a "fresher" saw is a Type 20
Question: Can xps be added, i know dewalt makes a kit to add it to some saws, but this model was not listed
Answer: mmToolparts actually sells a kit (3 proprietary DeWalt parts + their wiring harness) for less than $70. They have videos on their website that show how to install the parts on DW716, DWS779, and DWS782 saws. You will need some additional tools (torx screw drivers or torx bits, wire strippers/cutter/crimper) and somewhat mechanically inclined. Just google "DWS779 xps light kit" and they should be the top result. This might be an easier option versus going to a DeWalt service center in the post pandemic world.
Question: Does this miter saw come with a laser or any guiding system
Answer: It does not come with any laser for guidance. You may find my answer a bit crude, I've been using miter saws for many years and the best guiding system I found to work is my/your eyes. Having lasers or no lasers you still need to use your eyes to get the work piece spot on near the cutoff point. Hope this helps!
Question: Is there an LED cut line
Answer: You can add the LED light to this saw. Not a laser but a shadow light that show exactly where the saw blade will cut. I just did it last night. Parts can be had for about $70. This basically turns it into a model 780 which is much more expensive. Pretty simple to add.

Question: Does this saw come with the extension wings like its pictured
Answer: Yes they are included, they are attached to the saw. Loosen the thumb screw and slide them out.
Question: As of Mar 2018, Does it still cut an arc when sliding, as opposed to a straight line
Answer: Mine does not. Be careful with damaged packaging and saw impact
Question: Does the laser show both sides of the blade, that is is it a dual laser? Also does the laser have a separate switch or is it centrifical
Answer: The laser is on one line only and it can be switched left or right of the blade. There is a separate ON/OFF switch for the laser
