Answer:	The speed of the e-file is controlled with a knob on the base of the machine. The foot control is basically a on/off switch, even though you don’t have to use the foot control at all because there is also a on/off control on the base as well. So I guess whatever you’re comfortable with and since I figured out I didn’t need the foot control to use the machine, I haven’t used it since.

Answer:	A belt sander is great for any sanding job you need that requires a lot of material to be removed quickly, such as stripping paint or finishes on flat surfaces, smoothing out wood filter patches, sanding hard wood floors or removing hardened glue. If you need to finish wood surfaces or prepare surfaces, it is best to use a disc sander.

Answer:	I'm confused by all these answers. The description states; "The sander accepts 5-inch, 8-hole hook and loop paper". I see no mention of 5-hole paper in the description.
Question:	What's the difference between this and the D
Answer:	This one is not random orbit, like the D26451. It also has a more powerful motor, but I find the D26456 to be the best sander. Definitely buy one with a variable speed, like D26453K over the D26451. I returned this model quickly and rely on D26456 for woodworking and home improvement where I need a nice finish. This model definitely didn't come close to meeting my needs.

Answer:	Yes, I think this would work for any sanding job. You can change the paper to any grit size and the head swivels to get into corners. But look at the width of the head and see if that will be big enough for your job.

Question:	does this have auto tracking like the 21 inch model? if does it stay tracked
Answer:	Not sure if it has auto track or not. However, I have used it for about 100 hours without any problems. Once I center the new belt it stays there. In fact it is probably the best 4" belt sander I have used.Its heavy, well built, removes stock quickly, and runs like a champ. I use it to smooth rough sawn lumber that is too large to get through my planers.
Question:	Does this come with the attachment for mechanical dust extraction as shown in the photograph
Answer:	Yes, but I have never used this tiny bag. That would be for small jobs only. I have done my deck and now I am working on my dock. I directly hook it to the small size shop vacuum hose (through a piece of single diameter tube adopter I improvised), and dump the dust into a 5 gallon construction bucket, through a piece of low thread count scrap bed sheet, held in place by a bungee cord. It works just like a shop vacuum because the blower is so strong on the sander that you don't need the additional suction of a shop vacuum, or the weight of it to haul around. This is still hard work, but you can't get a better tool.

Answer:	I don’t know but all of the Ryobi tools I have, and I have many, have performed well and lasted a long time. Highly recommended!

Answer:	I have no idea, i am a plumbing contractor and i use these drills daily and have had no issue. You just have to be careful how far you push them. We're drilling with 2" and 3" hole saws with little to no issue.

Answer:	You can buy them here at Amazon.com. I've found them at Ace Hardware, Home Depot did not have them available in California.You aren't likely to find generic pads for this small sander.

Answer:	No. This is for fine detail work, not really for large surfaces. For that you'd want a larger orbital sander. I use this Mouse when I sand down guitar finishes, it helps me get in those tight places and around corners with precision.

Answer:	Challenge this and maybe they’ll give you a discount for sending you a used sander.
Question:	What would be the benefit of buying this model with the 24" belt, instead of model 9903 with the 21" belt? Both are the same price
Answer:	I had another belt sander with a 21" belt and found it harder to control (But it was a different brand so the comparison might not be relevant). Although the 24" belts cost a bit more, you'd probably get a bit more life of them. Hint: Any belt sander can be pretty aggressive if you use a coarse (#60) grit. Work with a finer grit until you get the feel for it. Even with 100 or 120 grit belt, this sander is pretty fast and efficient. Maybe someone who has the 21" version can give some input, too.Hope that helpsC
Question:	Does this sander come with a case? If not then does makita make one for it
Answer:	At one point they did make a case for this belt sander but I haven't seen one around lately. I didn't purchase it because it added approximately $100.00 to the tab. The model number was (perhaps) the same but with a couple of letters added to the end; similar to 9920BK or such. You could contact them.
Question:	My porter cable gets too hot. the wheel melts the adheseve causing the belt to fail. does this sander have that problem
Answer:	Not at all. This has performed flawlessly while I used it to strip down a large outdoor deck in hot summer sun for hours straight. As far as the sand paper belts, I believe they wear out to fast but I wouldn't blame that on the sander.

Answer:	don't think so it has a rubber mat backing don't think the glue will stick very well, I used whole sheet 8 1/2 X 11 and cut it in half and trim the edges give you more choices on the paper

Answer:	I buy full sheets of sandpaper then cut them up myself. Get 4 per sheet. I use Festool Granat 9 x 11 paper.

Answer:	The answer is that no you do not have to have holes in the paper to use it, but if you do not have the holes you will not be able to utilize the vacuum capability of removing the dust created by the sander. If this is not a factor and you have other was to remove the dust or are working outside then this will not be a factor.

Answer:	If you asking about the plate with the raised pegs it's to perforate your sandpaper so the dust collector will work properly.
