Question:	Can this sander be hooked up to a vaccum using standard attachments
Answer:	Yes it can, I hook mine upto a Rigid Shop Vac. However, because of the size of a shop vac type hose I would suggest going into a smaller hose that you would attach to the larger shop vac hose. For your Information, this sander does have a connector to connect to a dust extraction hose instead of the included dust system. This sander does make a lot of dust so going into an external extraction system is a big help.

Answer:	Carbon steels tend to be tougher and easier to sharpen. Even stainless steels rust, it just takes more for them to do so. You will need to properly care for the axe either way so they use a steel that can take the beating far better. Outdoors tools aren't meant to just sit somewhere for a year. A light coat of mineral oil every so often will be fine. Or you can just give it a patina once the coating wears.

Question:	Does this sander have the variable speed in the trigger or on a separate dial
Answer:	What, do you guys just make up answers as you go? Yes, it can be used to polish your car. You would do best with the softest backing plate and then you'll need a foam pad to attach. Look at the Lake Country Pads and they recommend an oversized pad of, I think, 7.5" for the 6" polishers. But they do make a 6.5" pad. Then, to make your life a bit easier, look for a microfiber bonnet to go over that. That's kind of personal preference. As compared to the Porter Cable 7424XP, that machine does one thing well, car detailing. This sander does everything well so if you don't want a single purpose machine think about it. As for quality, not many machines can compete with Bosch.

Answer:	I see no reason why not! it is just bolted to the table it comes with. Main thing would be to put it at a comfortable height, sometime I stand and other times I sit. I love this scroll saw, great value for the money!
