Answer:	Define shielded. They are great leads. Best I've had. They are 25 feet of insulated wire with insulated boots that will partially cover the alligator clips. The boots can be slid back down the wire if they are unnecessary for the application or if you are getting in a tight spot and they are getting in the way. The alligator clips are heavy duty and easy to replace if you accidentally smash one. The magnetic case is extremely strong. I have attached it to the outside of a vehicle and gone for a test drive multiple times. I have no complaints and intend to buy another.

Answer:	They are 99% of the time 6 inches shorter than what says on the black holder. The Mag is not really strong but I like how the wires are long enough to handle what I expect them to do.
