User questions & answers
Question: | The safety instructions with the cp7150 say "do not use quick disconnect couplings at tool." but isn't it standard practice to do just that |
Answer: | They recommend using a "whip" hose to connect the tool to the air system. A whip hose is a short flexible hose that is used as the quick connect. One end of the whip hose connect to the tool and the quick connect is at the other end. Search Amazon for a whip hose. The reason to not put a quick connect at the tool is that it places extreme mechanical stress on the tool. |
Question: | Can you fit a quick release chisel holder/adapter onto this tool? i have an adapter that says it fits on 1-3/16"-8 tpi threads |
Answer: | Yes you can, and this air hammer has more jam that mac tools one! |
Question: | Does it come with air hammer bits |
Answer: | Just the Air Hammer with mine!! |
Question: | My new cp7150 air hammer, fed by 90 lbs pressure, is not hammering. is the 3/8" id hose with 1/4" npt fittings too small |
Answer: | 3/8 hose and 1/4 npt fittings should be ample air supply at 90 lbs. have you tried lubricating the tool? |

User questions & answers
Question: | Is the new model shipping with the reverse/forward button |
Answer: | Yes. On the left side it has a forward/reverse switch. It is in a position similar to a firearm fire/safe switch- meaning you don't have to move your hand (or use another hand) to reverse the direction. Just use your thumb. Good feature |
Question: | Is this the same as the mac gun |
Answer: | I've also a full size mac impact, I'd say it's about half the size of my mac maybe even less. Its considerably smaller that's for sure. I don't know the exact dimensions, sorry. |
Question: | What is the required cfm air consumption of this tool |
Answer: | I cannot directly answer your question, but ours is used in an mechanic shop with compressor putting out about 125 psi with an 80 gallon tank, to 1/2" piping throughout the two bay shop. This tool has lots of torque in a compact tool and seems to be holding up well! It does not seem to use any more air (cfm), than the other air tools. Hope this helps! |
Question: | how much air does it use |
Answer: | Relatively little. Nothing near as much as my Matco gun that can deplete a little oil-less pancake compressor in a matter of seconds, but also not as little as a, say, a cheap harbor freight or Craftsman wrench. I couldnt get you a specific CFM number but I would say that it uses more than your average home hobbyist gun but easily less than what you would expect to be a pros go-to gun. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Where can i get parts |
Answer: | they have a web site for parts |
Question: | Does the rubber handle come loose in gas or oil |
Answer: | No, rubber good, only one think which annoying air leaking from o-ring at fitting... Otherwise highly recommend for price!!! Working as heavy equipment technician and hardly use every day without other issue. |
Question: | in what country is it made |
Answer: | Taiwan |
Question: | how many cfm is required to run this wrench |
Answer: | Most impacts require a tank size of 20 gallons or more. The CFM is misleading because a tool like this can consume 50-CFM under load and be rated for 10% of its actual consumption. I'm interested in this gun to replace an IR231, like one guy said, you can run it on a pancake compressor if you allow the air to recover. |
