Question:	Which one is better the fix spped or the variable speed to bore large holes
Answer:	I would recommend the variable speed for drilling large holes. I 7se mine for mixing alot and for drilling larger 5 3/4" holes through up to 12 in depth in pine. With drilling you don't always want 100%power all the time this gives you the best of both worlds.
Question:	How much time can i have it working with no problems in the drive motor? 2 h? 4 hours
Answer:	I've used mine on job after job day after day never have had an issue with with but have not used it content for 2 or 4 hours solid run time our work day is 8 to 10 hours a day I do know they have a great warranty on Makita drills have not had to use the warranty yet.
Question:	regarding ds4011 and ds4012, so what situations you use fix speed over variable speed or visa versa
Answer:	The manufacturer mentions the DS4011 (fixed-speed) for industrial drilling and mixing applications; the DS4012 (variable 0-600RPM speed) for mixing and drilling applications where more control is needed. You wouldn't want to go full speed when mixing powder like cement in a bucket with water in it unless you wanted to send it flying everywhere and so starting slowly and working the speed up as the cement and water get mixed together is what you would want. I think you might be OK with the fixed 600 RPM speed for something that is already combined (not a powder and liquid) such that you just need the power to mix the contents up. If you're combining ingredients to go from dry material and water to mixed slurry, you'll probably want variable speeds. One big difference between the DS4011 (fixed) and DS4012 (variable) is that the DS4012 has a switch lock that can be activated to lock the drill ON. Some people complained about it activating accidentally but after reading the manual I'm pretty sure they (1) didn't read the manual, (2) shouldn't be using power tools. So be aware that the DS4011 doesn't have the switch lock feature.

Answer:	No, there is no clutch. This is powerfull drill and it can twist your wrist and break bits.
Question:	can this drill's varialbe speed mean it can turn at a steady low 500 rpm? What does "variable" speed mean
Answer:	As with any variable speed drill, depress the trigger slightly (and hold it there) and it will spin VERY slowly. Depress the trigger more and it will spin faster. The 500 RPM is with the trigger fully depressed and the angle gear head removed. It has plenty of torque I use mine for mixing Thinset and such .. You'll need to use the attachable handle because it has a LOT of torque.
Question:	will a 48-06-2860 extension fit on this drill
Answer:	Yes, it will connect with the 3107-6. It is an accessory that is designed to interchange with the base model(1107-1) drill,which is the samedrill that comes with the model kit no. 3107-6. If you detatch the 48-06-2871 (90 degree)from the drill, then the unit becomes a 1/2' "D"handled drill (1107-1) until you attach your 33 degree extension.
