Answer:	Yes.. they take their own bits, but it does a great job drilling holes. I've drilled 1/2" holes through my solid 8" thick foundation several times. It is hard concrete with river rock from the 1940's so it is very hard. It goes through pretty quick.

Answer:	Without actually using each of the others, your question can't be answered. What I can tell you is that my son uses this hammer 12 hours a day alongside other men doing the same job. The others are envious of this hammer because it's so much easier to use than other hammers and doesn't cause as much physical discomfort as others can. When it wears out, it will be replaced with the same hammer. I hope this helps.

Answer:	None of these comments answers the question of "will it still recharge the aftermarket/non-Pelican battery using the Pelican flashlight recharging port?" The pelican apparantly has some sort of 3-4mm tall built in plug that must help the charge get to it while still in flashlight, and allows the battery charge level led indicator to still work. Most of the 18650 rechargeable's and kits like my Surefire 18650 kit just have 2 regular Surefire brand 18650's and charger u plug into a wall or car outlet, & has 2 slots so can charge 1 or 2 at a time. If Pelican is using a different design(specially a proprietary 1) than everyone else and makes it where u have to remove aftermarket batteries to recharge and/or use a dif recharger, and even then the battery level indicator still won't work unless it's a Pelican battery. Well that seems like a dumb feature to put in ur light. If u can remove the 3-4mm top(sounds like u can't) & put on new battery then thatd be a lot better. I liked the lumens of this lights output and dif light options & capabilities for hunting, EDC, defense use, to regular use, but I want to know i can replace 18650 with any quality 1 and it not only work the same and as long but also still have all the features work. So far from the answers on here and some comments in the reviews, it doesn't sound like that's a possiblity. Until I know for sure about these issues and how it doesn't have a tailcap with a lockout feature for transport or storage in pocket or closet like Surefire does(big deal IMO with how much a quality 123A or rechargeable 123A & 18650 packs are). I'll stick with Surefire with lower cost replaceable batteries and charge kits, and you no longer have to use their brand batteries to keep ur warranty valid. You just use theirs or 1 from their list of 5 or 6 quality battery makers, mainly 1s with built in fault and short protection so dont cause fires and other damages the cheap knockoffs can. Plus many of SF's new lights have built in 5V, 6V, & even 8V lithium ion battery that u just recharge with micro-USB cord, and last over 2 yrs and even when it no longer holds charge u can send in for free replacement(shipping, repair, & etc is all free!). I LOVE my Pelican cases and like the direction they're going with LED lights, but still need some refinement and less or really no proprietary built in parts & designs.

Answer:	Most electric (mains powered/cord) drills make terrible screwguns and this drill is no exception. The issue is torque, which is not effected much by the speed of an electric motor. Electric motors deliver almost 100% of their available torque immediately upon being energized and will produce that same amount of torque throughout their speed range (that's why freight trains, in the US, are driven by electric motors. The engines you hear are diesel electric generators which power the electric traction motors that make the train go. Without that instantly available torque the train would never move). All electric motors deliver torque like this. It has nothing to do with a brand. That instantly available torque is also what makes mains powered drills tear up screw heads, break screws, shred driver bits and cam out of the screw head to put the distinctive track marks on walls and furniture. It's also what makes mains powered drills perfect for drilling holes, which is precisely what they're designed to do. Since you can't do anything practical to change the way electric motors work the solution is to design the screwgun around a motor with less torque and lower power requirements. It doesn't take much torque to drive a screw (next to none if properly sized pilot holes have been drilled) and useful levels of screwdriving torque can easily, and conveniently, be provided by 18v-24v which can be had in a small rechargeable battery. Unless you're doing a LOT of 1/4"+ diameter hole making buy an inexpensive mains powered drill and spend the extra money on a nice cordless driver/drill and batteries. You'll get a lot more mileage for your money that way.
Question:	Why is speed described as 0-1200 RPM and review says it starts at either 250 or 600 RPM? I need something with true variable speed
Answer:	Stability is better with the mid grip over the pistol grip in the sense that your hand is closer to the target rather than behind the whole drill. It has better control and is easier to keep on the head of a screw or what have you. :)

Answer:	The simple answer is; yes it can. You can buy a "spade bit" (typically 4 1/2" wide) to loosen up hard soil. Use it on the hammer only setting. These bits are not very long, so you would have to loosen up soil to about 6" then dig out the soil and do it again until you get to a suitable depth. You probably should consult with a Horticulturist about amending the soil before you plant a tree in soil so hard you would need a hammer drill to dig in it.

Answer:	No, it doesn't, it will continue to spin after you let go of the trigger. At least when you just hold it in the air. In practice when you're drilling something in, I haven't found it to keep going, even with small screws.

Question:	Does it have a 3 prong grounded cord
Answer:	Metal roofing and siding usually runs aroound 28 ga. I stack a dozen sheets and cut them all at once. Here's my previous review...."Bought mine to cut steel roofing. Stacked 12 sheets of ribbed 28 ga. by 3' wide steel and cut all 12 sheets in one pass in matter of seconds and NO sparks! Used sabre saws and nibblers in past. No comparison for straight lines and speed. Have also been using it to cut angle iron and bar stock. Many times faster and cleaner than my 14" cutoff saw that uses an abrasive disc. Not having a shower of sparks and the accompanying fire hazard is a huge benefit. After several roofing jobs and many misc. cuts, it is still as sharp as new. If it ever does get dull, any saw shop can sharpen it for around $10 or less. The info says for thin steel but I consistantly cut up to 1" by 6" solid steel flat bar stock with no effort whatsoever. The 48 tooth blade doesn't cut thick steel any faster than this 68 tooth and the 48 tooth will not work as well on thin sheet steel. As a matter of fact, the 48 tooth is dangerous on thin stock as it will over-feed and grab. If you are cutting various different thickness of steel, buy this one, and skip purchasing the 48 tooth. This 68 tooth blade is all you will ever need. For best results give it a shot of WD-40 on both sides of body in between cuts. A little bit of lubrication makes cuts effortless. Part of the beauty of this hammer is that it actually doesn’t want you to do the work for it; we found that exerting force on it actually slows you down. Instead, firm, steady pressure got us the best results. We particularly like the design of this hammer; instead of the traditional linear approach, Bosch built it more like a pistol, and that may (or may not, we’re not rocket scientists) be part of why so little vibration is felt. The rear handle is generously padded, and the auxiliary handle rotates 360 degrees so you can set it exactly where you need it. Another check in the ergonomics column comes from the electronic feedback system and the soft start it provides, keeping torque to a minimum.

Bit changes are fast and easy with the SDS-max system. Just twist the bit and push it in until it locks into place automatically, and you’re ready to work. The vario-lock is an ingenious feature that lets you position your spade or gouge at exactly the attitude you need. While in the vario-lock setting, you just rotate the locking sleeve to one of 12 positions at 30-degree increments, and an easy twist of the locking sleeve secures the bit in position.

The variable speed dial lets you choose from six speed settings, appropriate for chipping everything from plaster work up to concrete, and the circuitry will keep your set impact rate constant between no-load and load conditions.
