| Answer: | I'm 5'7" and the pre-made stands I've found are all too tall. I decided to sacrifice an old B&D Workmate 300 and not extend the lower legs. Took the clamps off and drilled 2 holes and enlarged 2 holes. Using a 3/4" piece of plywood in between cut just larger than the Workmate frame. The resulting height is perfect for me. Stable and I can disassemble into small pieces pretty fast if I need to. I used pronged - recessed nuts for the table to plywood bolts and through bolts for the plywood to stand bolts. |

| Answer: | Bosch does make a router lift that does fit this table and the plate has a pre-drilled hole for the lifting mechanism(RA1165). You have to have a router that fits correctly into that lifting mechanism. If you get another kind of lift, you simply get it centered and then drill the hole as your lift requires. I would recommend just using another insert and don't mess with this plate if you have to do this. Two reasons, 1) get a clear plate you can see through, this one is aluminum and there is no seeing through it, and 2) get a plate already with a lift that fits this table and you don't have to mess with any drilling - just know the size of plate you need and if it will fit your current or projected router. I don't remember the router motors that will fit the Bosch lift, but it is limited. I do own and use this table but have not upgraded to a lift yet. These are the options available to me. |

| Answer: | I would think so, if your table top is wood. Metal or aluminum would be harder to do. The Rousseau is, as you see,9"x12". You could easily and affordably make a new one with 3/4" ply, add a Formica cover of your choice of color or just clear coat it. The Rousseau is the most affordable insert that I have seen, I got 2 at the Amazon price, one to just have if I want to change my setup or have 2 router tables. you might could cut the R insert down to fit, I would not. It has screw holes in the corners to house mounting tabs, I don't use those, but I wouldn't saw the corners off ether. Charles, I am more than satisfied with the R insert. I use a 2.25 hp Craftsman plunge router, take the plunge springs out, store them. Don't fasten the plate to the table, the weight of the router will hold it down. Take the knobs or handles off if you are going to leave it in the table. Use one of the handle cap screws to tighten the shaft down if you don't trust the plunge lock to stay in place, works great with just a little more effort. Throw away those adjustable fences, make your own from wood or plastics, use c or small adjustable clamps on both ends. Try the fence cross ways on table instead of length wise, much better. One more, you don't need a miter gauge track, use blocks of scrap wood for push tools. Make your own bit guard with clear acrylic, hot melt a small aa cell led flash light on the guard to illuminate the bit work site. Maybe you will like this approach, I do, it makes routing easier and more fun. The more simple it is, the more you will want to use the tool. these are not my personal discoveries, I found them online and in magazines. I hope this help. Rocketbob |

| Answer: | Hello, I am sorry, but we do not carry a pre-drilled insert plate for the Dewalt 618. We do offer an undrilled insert plate. This will allow you to mark the insert plate with your router's base plate and then drill out the mounting holes yourself. I might mention that the Dewalt 618 is a compact router. Compact routers usually have a tighter mounting hole pattern or configuration. The center opening in our insert plate is about 3-1/2 to 3-3/4 inches in diameter, so if the Dewalt 618 mounting holes does not fit outside of the insert plate's center opening there will not be anything material for the router to mount to. It also instructs how to make router guides to cut the insert into the table. I can't be more pleased with this insert plate. I do highly recommend the kreg leveling corners as well. |

| Answer: | It could be cut (with the right tools anything can be cut) but if you cut off any more than a few thousandth, you will cut off the adjustment screws for leveling the plate with the table top. In other words, you could but you will seriously limit your ability to make adjustments. |
