Answer:	This little grinder is very effective when I work with bass wood which is a very soft wood. to grind brick or stone would be a slow process. You most likely burn the bit fairly fast. It just depends how much material you need to grind. I have used this on stone to make small indentations but not more than that.

Answer:	Try the tungsten carbide cutters or diamond wheel points. They remove less material allowing to more precisely round off stainless steel points, etc.

Answer:	The grit on this would not be strong enough for your wheel well. It would wear down too fast. I would suggest a bit with more grit.

Answer:	I have used this to sharpen tools but recently used it on a hard vinyl door edge. I only had to grind a very small area and was successful. It really isn't designed for plastic/vinyl as the tip gets clogged with the hot remnants.

Answer:	Maybe 1 3/4 inches.

Answer:	You are asking a very reasonable question, and when I go back to read the dimensions listed for the product, they make no sense to me. To help you I opened a new #952 aluminum oxide grinding stone. To keep the answer simple the overall length is 1.5". The 1/8" shaft is 3/4" long and the stone is 3/4" long. The base of the stone, that connect to the shaft is 3/8" thick. I could have made the answer more confusing by giving detailed dimensions in in tenths of an inch and mm as measured with a digital machine shop caliper, but unless you need that level of granularity, I think the above measurements are pretty solid. Hope this helps.

Answer:	Yes, it will work for small tools.
Question:	Does this work with my Dremel multi-max
Answer:	This not a tool that will fit on a Multi-max tool. A multi-max tool cuts by sliding 3 degrees side to side. The tool you are asking about cuts by spinning. The tool shown needs to be put on an "EZ Lock Arbor" which is attached to a Dremel tool (rotating) and used to cut metal. There are other similar tools for cutting plastic and other materials. Using this cutter works well. Make sure that you start moving it from right to left when cutting. If you move it left to right, when you come to the end of the cut the cutter will grab at the end of the cut and jump off the work piece. If you don't have a strong grip on the tool it will try to jump off the work piece and could cause damage or injury. Just be careful, pay attention to what you are doing and the tool will work well. Make sure the work piece is clamped in place so it doesn't move. If the material you are cutting is thick, use multiple cuts. A little at a time is good. Good luck. Oh, wear safety glasses too!

Answer:	I'm using it for metal cuts, I have had some plastic covering on the metal that it cut through. More of a melting of the plastic. It probably is not good for the blade.

Answer:	You could use a regular drill to drive this tool, but you won't get the high speed or more precise handling of the dremel-type tool. Note the "Dremel-TYPE"; any brand of high speed tool will work. Harbor Freight sells a decent Dremel-type tool at a reasonable price.

EZ Lock Premium Metal Cutting Wheel

The EZ506CU cutting wheel features a super abrasive grit called cubic boron nitride or CBN. CBN used on a cut-off wheel allows the wheel to remain sharp longer, stay cool, and it won’t shrink. Wood Cutting Wheels

Dremel 543 and EZ544 are both carbide cutting wheels for cutting and shaping on woods, fiberglass, plastics and laminates. Do not use them on metals. For 543 the mandrel is included; for EZ544 use the EZ402 Mandrel.

Dremel 546 Rip/Crosscut Blade is a long-lasting, mini circular blade that cuts both with and across the grain on wood and wood-like materials. It is designed to be used only in conjunction with the Dremel 670 Mini Saw Attachment. Therefore, no mandrel is used.

Hard Materials Cutting Wheels

Dremel 545 and EZ545 are both diamond wheels great for cutting, sawing and carving hard materials; such as, marble, concrete, brick, porcelain, ceramics, hard epoxy and soft and hard wood. Do not use them on metals. For 545 use the 402 Mandrel (included); for EZ545 use the EZ402 Mandrel.

Question:	Can I use this to grind old paint off wood where sandpaper won't reach
Answer:	You can but I would suggest a different grinding bit of you want to use a dremel. This is likely to get clogged from the paint. A nice sanding Dremel bit is also much cheaper. If you don't need to use a dremel, I would suggest chemical paint remover, a scraper, or sandpaper and a little sanding pad.
Question:	Would this work good enough for cutting a little bit of tile away around a toilet flange? I only need to cut a small bit away to get a spacer to fit
Answer:	Thank you for contacting Dremel, The 83142 is designed to work well on stone, ceramics, porcelain, and non-ferrous metals. It's 100 grit silicon carbide and it should work in your tile application. Remember, it will wear away and/or change shapes depending how much pressure you put on the tool. Answer:	None. I personally feel that a dremel was not made for that.

Answer:	I wouldn't do it. Even the slowest speeds are much faster than is safe to use next to tissue. And the Silicon Carbide bit is used for grinding metal; it will tear right through something softer, like toenails and fingernails.
Question:	Can this be used to apply a bevel to 6mm glass
Answer:	Keep in mind it's shape. You may yield better results w/a BARREL shape if beveling consistent long stretches of anything. Yeah, they should work w/glass, provided you are spraying the surface w/clean water. I use these to round/soften edges on aluminum RC car parts of various grades. I know this is from 2017, I'm just trying to help and I'm bored.
