User questions & answers

Question: Will this blade cut 1/2" hdpe well
Answer: Absolutely NOT. It's the complete opposite of that kind of blade. The teeth are like mini-razor blades that slightly criss-cross each other. You're looking for the opposite- a blade that has flat, chisel-like scooping teeth. Totally opposite.
Question: Will this blade cut a flat bottom dado in wood
Answer: I have not tried 1/4 aluminum but have cut plenty of 1/8 aluminum sheet and angle extrusions and I would have no problem using it for 1/4 inch material. This blade works well with aluminum sheets
Question: Has anyone used this to cut 1/4" 3003 aluminum plate with success
Answer: Look on the amazon site, part way down page on left. If by "1/8 thick" you mean the width of the removed material (called the "kerf") the kerf is 0.094"...so not 1/8"...thinner.By the way, I love the blade for cutting aluminum plate and extrusions (as well as the occasional plastic...and even wood if I am too lazy to change to a wood blade.
Question: what is the thickness of the blade? I am looking for one that is 1/8" thick
Answer: Thank you so much for your interest in SPEEDYORDERS "Two Way Acrylic Mirror". Yes, you can use "double-sided mirror adhesive tape". Make sure the surface is free from dust, dirt and grease before using the tape. It comes with protective masking which should not be removed until mirror is installed. Thanks for your inquiry. Special Grind and Negative Hook Angle Prevent Melting

Built to leave a crisp, high-quality finish when cutting acrylics, polycarbonates and other plastics, this blade features 80 teeth with a special, modified triple-chip grind. Based on the results of extensive computer simulations, this grind helps the blade stay cool while it cuts so your work surface never starts to melt. The blade's teeth also feature negative hook angles, which helps prevent the blade from being too aggressive and further reduces the possibility of melting or chipping.

This blade is designed for optimal performance when cutting plastic and Plexiglass that ranges from 1/4 to 1-5/8 inches thick. This blade can also handle chipboard, plywood, or laminates, and it can tackle thinner or thicker materials. However, some loss of surface finish may occur when it is used outside its ideal range. It has a 5/8-inch arbor and produces a 0.110 kerf.

Well-Balanced, Anti-Vibration Design

This Freud blade is precision balanced and pretensioned for truer cuts under heavy loads. It also features laser-cut, anti-vibration slots that reduce chatter for a cleaner finish, longer blade life, and reduced noise while you work. And because the entire blade is laser cut from high-strength steel, you can trust that it will stay stable, flat, and true, even after prolonged use. Furthermore, this well-balanced, anti-vibration design means there's no need to use add-on stabilizers with this blade.

High-Density Carbide for Maximum Cutting Performance

This plastic and Plexiglass blade's 80 teeth are finished with tips made from Freud's application-specific TiCo high-density carbide "plastic blend." Formulated to extend tooth life in the face of work with plastics and solid surfaces, this blend is extra hard--due to the proportion of high-density tungsten carbide that goes into it--and it still offers the mix of improved corrosion resistance, heat resistance, and impact resistance that you expect from TiCo.

With teeth that start out sharper and deliver improved edge retention, the blade can go longer between sharpening, and will hold up longer--saving you time and money.

Silver I.C.E. Coating Resists Corrosion, Heat, and Resin Buildup

This blade is finished with Freud's Silver I.C.E. coating, which resists corrosion for improved performance over time. This unique coating also resists heat buildup, protecting your saw and your work surface and preventing the blade from warping. It also helps prevent resin or "pitch" buildup.

Since gummy pitch buildup causes extra drag on the motor of your saw, less buildup means longer tool life and longer blade life. It also means less downtime for blade cleaning, so you get jobs done faster.

This industrial saw blade is backed by Freud's limited lifetime warranty.

User questions & answers

Question: is this suitable for 1/8 in plexi for framing drawings
Answer: No Oil Slick is very different from this color.
Question: Would this blade be used for fiberglass cutting? what would be the best blade to use if this not the proper one ore not the best
Answer: Neon orange is 1 solid color. The entire bar tape is neon orange. Neon orange galaxy is black tape with neon orange stars
Question: Is this blade suitable for solid surface 1/2” thick
Answer: Solid color with stars and no tapering. I ordered the black with silver stars. The “fade” bar tape is the style that “tapers” to the alternate color. Awesome bar tape no matter what the color though.
Question: Will this cut 1" square acrylic rods on dewalt table saw
Answer: One pair. Comes with 2 rolls and 2 bar end plugs . Each roll is for one side of the bar. Start off with a little wider spacing when you wrap so you can see how far up the bar you can go. The tape doesn’t stretch so you can’t turn 1” into an 1 1/4” like you can with cork tape

User questions & answers

Question: Can I cleanly cut aluminum angle iron with this
Answer: I made a test, labeled a glass jar and had it for the past 24 hours in the freezer and it worked (held) very well and still peeled easily right out of the freezer. (I rubbed the tape well on the glass) . I have not tried it in the fridge though. I will. I do like that idea for labeling reusable containers rather than using a marker.
Question: Please don't flame me but I'm new to power tools. Can this blade be used on a Skil brand circular saw
Answer: I love this stuff. I'm a chef (@ home) & this is perfect for me to put dates on prepped items, left overs, etc. This is one of my secret weapons. I keep a roll everywhere I can think of for quick notes, labeling, & date/time stamps. ONE OF POST-IT's best products I think!
Question: Is this blade designed to cut wood
Answer: No it doesn’t. It’s just two rolls of bar wrap, but does come with the end cap plugs.
Question: Will this cut 1/8" acrylic safely? 140 tooth Dewalt any better? Looking to cut down diecast car risers
Answer: It is 2.5mm. No idea the type of tape. I put it on my gravel bike at the beginning of the season, it has probably 2000 miles on it and other than a little discoloration next to the hoods where my gloves make contact. It still looks great.
Question: Can I use this on fiberglass ? and what kind of circular saw ? a regular one for wood
Answer: Yes, it includes 2, one for each side of the bar.
Question: can i use to cut wood and aluminum
Answer: It MIGHT work - however I am sure there is tape made specifically for this purpose. This is for Bicycles not safety bars.
Question: can i use to cut wood and aluminum
Answer: There is an address for Italy on the back of the box
Question: Will this cut corian
Answer: Italian designed. Made elsewhere.

Question: Is it good for cutting HDP
Answer: Each word section is about 3-4 inches. Each roll is 30 yard. So you'd need 4 sections per box or a foot. That would do 90 boxes. Some rooms have 2 rolls. It's plenty. Trust me. My pet peeve was that the Orange and red look alike on cardboard
Question: Can this blade be used to cut faux wood blinds
Answer: The same material as every other post-it: paper 😉
Question: What's the RPM max of the blade

Produces Smooth, Quiet Cuts with Laser-Cut Kerf

The Freud D1296N's clean-cutting design means that you can enjoy the comfort of smooth performance. The thin 0.091-inch kerf between the blade's 96 TCG (triple-chip grind) teeth is laser cut to provide ease of feed, so you have more control over the blade's position. This helps maximize both the accuracy of the cut and the efficiency of your work, so you enjoy a job well done and the ability to complete more tasks in less time.

An added bonus, the blade's laser-cut stabilizer vents reduce noise and vibration during operation, keeping your work environment more relaxed and your hands more in control. This feature also reduces friction and warping, helping to extend the blade's cutting life.

Features Shock-Resistant Carbide for Long-Lasting Precision

So you can count on it over the long term, the Freud D1296N is designed for durability. The blade's hardy teeth are protected by Freud's exclusive shock-resistant TiCo Hi-Density Carbide formula, which helps fight wear and tear and maintains blade sharpness up to four times longer than standard carbide. And protecting the blade is Perma-Shield Non-Stick Coating that provides resistance to heat and corrosion.

User questions & answers

Question: Want to use this blade to cut 2" thick brass, Will this worl
Answer: This is listed as used on slide saws, though it has a +10 degree kerf. I use this on my slide saw and works fine. Not as good as a forrest chopmaster but a thinner kerf, which is supposed to be easier on your saw. This blade does leave some burn marks mitering hard woods.
Question: Looking for an easy, fast, clean means of cutting aluminum window screen frames would this be the best option
Answer: With the carbide inserts on each tooth, it will cut aluminum so plastic should be a snap.
Question: Can these cut iron , steel , and stainless steel
Answer: I would avoid this blade for anything other than wood. I recommend the LU84R011. It's a combination blade that I use on my table saw for a myriad of things and I get super smooth cuts from it without excessive heat and paint transfer.
Question: I need to confirm this item is for non ferrous metal..the item pictured is not, it doen't match the description...please confirm. Thank you
Answer: Hook Angle is a positive 5-Degrees. Freud designed the LU74R010 Industrial Thin Kerf Crosscut blade as a 80 tooth 10" fine crosscut blade that features 80 alternating top bevel teeth set at a 5 degree positive hook angle, which is a configuration that lends itself to very clean crosscuts in a variety of materials, and is condusive for use in a table saw, radial arm saw, compound miter saw, or sliding compound miter saw. The body uses a laser cut expansion slots for low noise and vibration, and has an "Permashield" non-stick coating said to reduce heat build up. The C4 carbide teeth large enough to withstand many resharpendings.
