| Answer: | Manufacturers sheet says 1.5mm to 25mm. That roughly translates to 14AWG at the low end, and off the AWG chart at the high end. We used it to strip 6AWG. It did the job. We were stripping lengths under 15'. We ran the pieces of cable through twice, to score both sides of the jacket. It made it much simpler to separate the wire from the jacket. |

It is possible to visually see how far the wire is beyond the blades so a fairly close strip length can be estimated. The unit does 'tug' on the wire slightly, so it takes a little practice to anticipate where it will strip. A estimate for strip accuracy would probably be the average person in 15 minutes of practice could probably strip wire with a precision of 1/8" or less. It does make short work of difficult magnet wire stripping. |
