Answer: Honestly, I didn't need to use the lids. I brought the empty cups and filled them at my party site. Otherwise, if I needed to fill them before, I would have used the lids. So, I can't answer the question. However, because of the shape, the cups didn't look like plain little plastic drinking cups. I did get compliments about the cups.
