Answer:	It is Spring loaded in a way. It is two pieces that has a spring holding the two together. You hold the piece with the point against the window and then you pull back on the second longer piece that when release will hit the point piece and shatter the window.

Answer:	I'm not sure if it works completely submerged. But I have had my window punch for about 3 years and used it an uncountable amount of times. Never had a single problem with it, it's been used on regular cars, 18 wheelers, school busses. You name it I've probably used this window punch on it and I've never been dissatisfied. I have also used it on a vehicle overturned in a creek and it was partially submerged (the window punch was) and I still did not have a problem with this tool.

Answer:	Hi Gregg, It is spring loaded, but there is no button. It is a one time device. In an emergency if you needed to break the window to get out of your vehicle you would just take the small end and forcefully press and hold it agains the window (preferably a side window which is not laminated) and when the nub on the T3 is compressed it releases the spring and a metal pin strikes and breaks the glass. Answer:	For each, push down on a lever just below the blade and hook and it will release the blade to close. It works the same for the hook. I'm not sure what the lever is called, but experiment with the lever just beneath the blade.
