11 best crow bars
A crowbar, also commonly referred to as a pry bar, is a versatile hand tool used for various tasks in construction, demolition, and general maintenance. These tools are designed to provide leverage for lifting, prying, and removing objects or materials. Here's what you need to know about crowbars:
Design: Crowbars typically have a long, straight, and flat metal shaft with a curved end on one side and a flattened, chisel-like end on the other. The curved end is often referred to as the "crow's foot."
Materials: They are commonly made of high-strength steel or iron, which gives them the strength and durability needed for heavy-duty tasks.
Types: Crowbars come in various lengths and sizes to suit different applications. The most common types include flat bars (with flat ends on both sides), wrecking bars (with a bent and tapered crow's foot end for prying), and pinch bars (with a pointed end for more precise work).
Uses:
- Prying: Crowbars are excellent for prying apart materials like wood, metal, or concrete. They can be used to remove nails, open crates, or separate objects that are stuck or joined together.
- Demolition: In construction and demolition work, crowbars are indispensable for removing walls, flooring, and other structural elements.
- Lifting: The crow's foot end can be used as a lever to lift heavy objects or materials, such as rocks, logs, or debris.
- Nail Removal: The flat end of a crowbar can be used to remove nails from wood or other surfaces.
- Wrecking: Wrecking bars, a type of crowbar, are specifically designed for heavy demolition work, including breaking concrete and dismantling structures.
Safety: When using a crowbar, it's essential to take safety precautions, such as wearing appropriate personal protective equipment and ensuring that the tool is in good condition.Be mindful of your surroundings and potential hazards during use.
Maintenance: To ensure the longevity of your crowbar, keep it clean and free of rust. Store it in a dry place and periodically inspect it for signs of wear or damage.
Variations: Some crowbars may have additional features, such as a nail puller, which is a small notch or groove designed to make it easier to grip and remove nails.
Crowbars are valuable tools for professionals in construction and demolition, as well as for DIY enthusiasts who need to perform tasks that require leverage and force. Their versatility and robust construction make them essential additions to any toolbox or workshop.

User questions & answers
Question: | How wide and thick at the tip of bar |
Answer: | no. to close the case on a submariner, you need a specialized tool to unscrew the back. it is a special fitted wrench. |
Question: | What kind of metal is this made out of |
Answer: | Not sure what "high pressure" means to you, but I had 2 ladies watches - a Movado and a Bulova that I could not close manually no matter how hard I tried. This watch press closed them both in seconds. The closing pressure depends entirely on the strength you have in pressing the lever. I had no problem with the two I closed. I also changed the batteries in all my grandkids watches - no problems closing them, either. |
Question: | where is this made |
Answer: | The gap is 17.16 mm with the dies on and 28mm without. |
Question: | What is the max weight handling |
Answer: | I used it on mine (Diesel adz7069) and it worked. I made sure the contact points of the die on the watch face were on the metal and picked a die for the back that was just a little bigger than being inscribed within the back piece. That is, it hit all the midpoints of the square. That being said, it's not like it's a $500 watch, and I knew I risked something going wrong. But still a WHOLE lot easier and less stressful than trying to do it without a watch press. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can I buy this with a custom orange paint job? Asking for a friend |
Answer: | Oval, maybe depending on the size. Rectangular? Doubtful, the press has several plasitic pads to support the watch while pressing, all are round. You could ask the company if they could provide a rectangular pad. Without the proper pad, I would be afraid to try it. |
Question: | Is this made in the USA |
Answer: | Yes it can! Just replaced the crystal on my Orient Ray II with a new double dome sapphire crystal using this press and it was a breeze! Just have to be careful as the dies are plastic and not silicone. |
Question: | Is this strong enough to fight off crackheads when I go to seven eleven at 2:00am |
Answer: | I seriously doubt it....I had to take two of my watches to a jeweler anyway to have them opened....this is just a step above a toy. |
Question: | Will this beat the head crabs? what size do you recommend for those small things? at the black mesa research facility of course |
Answer: | Hello my friend, our watch press kit set perfect for watch repair and watch battery replacement,12 dies from 18mm-50mm that can be use for most diameter watch. hope this can help you. Thanks! |

Answer: | You must remove the one that is on there already |
Question: | Can a crow bar be used as a fire poker |
Answer: | Presses like this one are indeed used to remove an old crystal and press in the new crystal. As long as the die are plastic or nylon and cannot scratch the crystal it should be ok. Of course most presses here on Amazon are lowest quality, so keep this in mind, but try it and let us know how it worked! |
Question: | Husband nailed old uppe&lower cabinets to strips attached 2 side of garage-will 36 inch bar likely pry them off the strips?I’m 62 yr disabled female |
Answer: | It should work. The crystal is probably smaller than than the case. Find the concave die to fit the crystal then use the largest flat die to press the back into place. Hope that helps you. |
