Fortunately I do still have one old 'Uncle Henry" old enough to be of good quality. I recall sharpening a knife (Uncle Henry) for our Sgt and when he cut himself with it the doctor (took 12 stitches inside & out to sew him up) said it looked like he had been cut with a scalpel. Answer:	To all those complaining about the blades not locking, a blade lock was developed to keep a knife from closing when it is used to stab, like a folding skinner going through thick hide at the start of a cut (which is the wrong way to start that cut, too, by the way). If you are using this tool in any way that causes the blades to close on your fingers, you don't know how to use the tool, and you're looking for a hardware fix for a training deficiency. Stop blaming the tool and fix your ignorance. Nobody is born knowing how to use a carving knife, or any other type of knife, any more than they're born knowing how to use a hammer, saw, drill, gun, stove, oven, or jackhammer, and you shouldn't expect to expertly use a tool until you've spent some time learning how to.

Answer:	I just received this comforter set, and this isn't Tulay purple or whatever they want to call it. It's more maroon or burgundy like you said. If you are looking for something that matches the photo image you probably will be disappointed. I know I am, because I was looking forward to getting it so it matches other things. But I'll return it and see if I can get a better color match. Maybe the manufacturers decided to make it all the darker maroon color, because there is no lavender or lilac color to the background of the design like you see here. It's a gray color. and the green stands out more than anything that might be misconstrued as purple. My new headboard in light lavender and wanted something that would at least have some lavender in it.

Answer:	You have to soak it in water for 20 min prior to use. During the sharpening process, it's important to keep the stone wet by sprinkling water on it. Do this as soon as it starts to get dry. You want a slurry of water on the stone at all times. The slurry consists of water and some of the metal dust generated while sharpening. Do not wipe this off during the process because that is what helps hone the knife. Do not use oil on this stone because you will ruin it. Hope this helps!

Question:	Are the blades sharp
Answer:	Yes. Blade slides into outer shell made of metal. As long as you don't try to use it as a weapon it is very safe.
Question:	How's it working for you so far
Answer:	With the cutting edge retracted just enough to fit inside the housing, the length is 4 inches. But you could also pull the blade farther into the housing in which case it would be longer. And, of course, the blade holder comes out so you can replace the single edge "standard" razor blades.
Question:	Actually you will receive 12 box cutters, not 1, right
Answer:	Yes, only a corner of the blade is exposed. Single edge razor blades are flimsy, so the remainder of the blade holder is for blade stability and safety. Once the blade gets dull, you can turn it around and use the other corner that is still sharp. To add, turn or change blade, CAREFULLY slide outer metal sleeve off (it will only slide off one end) and you will see where blades slide in. Again carefully, slide metal sleeve back over the assembly and slide other way to expose the cutting edge. Be sure to slide sleeve back over the blade when finished. An "old school" experienced grocery man at your local market can show you how to use this, change blades, etc. (Nowadays they have to use some sort of OSHA approved cutter, but the older guys will know how to use these)
