User questions & answers

Question: is this assisted open
Answer: Definitely too small. We are empty-nesters but I love to use a crock pot or slow cooker. (FYI- I think older crock pots cook slower than new slow cookers. Not sure about new crock pots though). A 6 qt would be really good for your famil6 size. Even would have leftovers for lunch or a second meal. I’m looking for a larger one right now.
Question: What type of locking mechanism does this blade have
Answer: Yes, it's non stick, and very easy to clean. I was amazed by the simplicity and convenience of this air fryer. It is not only easy to operate, easy to make a delicious meal with 11 preset menus, but also very easy to clean. I have been using this air flyer for 2 weeks and so far I am so happy with it. It has completely freed up my hands and I can clean up my desk without much effort after every big meal.
Question: Does it come in a box with all the Spyderco paperwork
Answer: I've only cooked a 2lbs pork chop, steaks and chicken nuggets. 10 minutes for the pork chop, 8 on steaks, and 6 on chicken nuggets. I find other air fryer like Ultrean and TaoTronics and others, they all needs more times for cooking.
Question: Is this a chinese product? Thx
Answer: Yes, it will. That is a really nice feature. Love this Whousewe air fryer, good quality and useful.

User questions & answers

Question: How many are available
Answer: There was a change after the first run a year or two ago. The first run has a heavier lock spring, clear cage, and solid liners. It's probably better for hard use, but heavier, and the lock is slower and impossible to use with one hand. The newer version with lighter lock spring, black cage and skeletonized liners is an honest improvement for edc, 1oz lighter, and can flip closed or open one handed after it breaks in. Mine was a new version, seems just about all that have been sold in the past year are the new version, the first version seems it was a fairly small run too, so while not impossible, you really aren't likely to get the early one, but that was the model for a majority of the stock photos, and spyderco didn't redo them after the change.
Question: Can you open the knife one handed
Answer: The knife is actually made in Taichung, Taiwan but the quality is equal to any other Spyderco. The Taichung factory does excellent work. My favorite Spyderco is the PM2 that is USA made, but the qualities are equal in my opinion.
Question: Is this knife legal for concealed carry in California
Answer: The number of Spydercos I own are in the double digits, I'm not going to go count them and from years of enjoying Spyderco knives I find the Taichung knives are the best. Seki City Japan second and USA third. Though the Golden USA quality has gone up in the last year or so. PS: I live in Colorado about a hundred miles from the Golden factory. One consistent area of superiority in the first two makers is the attention to detail of the edge grind and sharpness; always much better than the USA. See my review of this knife if they find time to get it posted.
Question: Does it have bearings
Answer: It took 2 days to get mine.

Tenacious

An unparalleled combination of affordability and performance, the Tenacious is the go-to choice of countless savvy knife users. This all-new lightweight version raises the bar even further with injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle scales that reduce the knife’s overall weight by almost 10 percent and offer the enhanced grip traction of Spyderco’s signature Bi-Directional Texture pattern.

All other features are consistent with the original model, including a full-flat-ground 8Cr13MoV stainless steel blade, full skeletonized stainless steel liners, a four-position pocket clip, a sturdy LinerLock and a choice of PlainEdge, CombinationEdge, or SpyderEdge blade configurations

Native 5

Spyderco’s Native Lightweight has long been the go-to cutting tool for savvy tactical knife users. The fifth-generation Native 5 version of this design raises the bar even further, combining an ultra-lightweight fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handle, a low-profile black finish, and an aggressive SpyderEdge cutting edge with the advanced engineering of the Native 5 platform. This knife’s full-flat-ground blade is machined from CPM S30V powder metallurgy stainless steel and has a durable, non-reflective Diamond-Like Carbon (DLC) coating. Its SpyderEdge cutting edge provides extreme cutting power, especially on fibrous materials. It also includes an index-finger choil for a forward-positioned grip that allows enhanced control during detailed cutting tasks.

A highly evolved back lock mechanism—one of the defining features of the Native 5 design—locks the blade securely in the open position and, along with the blade’s Round Hole, allows ambidextrous one-handed opening and closing of the knife.

The linerless injection-molded FRN handle features a deep Bi-Directional Texturing pattern for maximum grip security and includes four sets of threaded stainless steel inserts to mount the reinforced hourglass clip for tip-up or tip-down carry on either side of the knife.

User questions & answers

Question: Anyone use it for fillet fishing
Answer: That is the mark of the knife maker or designer. Do a little research I know the explanation is on the spyderco website
Question: How well does this knife hold an edge
Answer: I suppose you mean how "stiff" is the lock spring? Since it is absolutely still in mine. Anyway, it is not a gravity knife and isn't going to become one. It is a lock designed for hard use as a lock and so, it's not ever going to be a fast knife. But if it's too stiff in breaking down, it's got a burr on it. Send it back. Mine is pretty smooth but not like a liner lock. It's a cam lock that works on a spring loaded mechanical block, like a door lock.

Answer: I own 3 Native 5's.The pink one that is pictured here is the one I gave to a friend of mine. Good edc knife
Question: I need to know what the blade length is
Answer: I have two older ones with the better, but now impossible to find, hollow ground blades, and one newer one with the current flat ground blade. All are s30v. I don’t know what the latest production runs use.
Question: Does this knife include a tool to unscrew the clip so it can be moved
Answer: The picture you were looking at was an older model, but the ad is for a Native V. Sometimes the seller doesn'tknow the difference! Check with them as to what the box says! I hope this helps!Charlie / buddy54ck

Delica 4 Lightweight

If you already own a Delica or Endura, you have one of the knives Spyderco makes. The knife you have just acquired is a bit different from the normal C10 Endura 4 and C11 Delica 4 Lightweights. They are now available in a range of new handle colors with full-flat ground blades. Their FRN (fiberglass reinforced nylon) handles come in new vibrant tones including blue, green, brown, gray, and purple. Molded onto the handle's surface is Bi-Directional Texturing for slip-free tactile traction. Inside the handle are dual skeletonized stainless steel liners which strengthen the knife without additional weight and double as an anchor for external and internal components to attach through generating more sturdiness and rigidity.

The blades are full flat-ground VG-10 with a thinner highly refined cutting edge and a larger 13mm opening hole. Added to the blade's spine is slip resistant jimping. Phosphor bronze washers smooth out the open/close action and the clip is upgraded to a four-way tip-up, tip-down, left-or right-handed clip.

User questions & answers

Question: is there a clip to attach this knife to a pocket
Answer: Thank you for contacting Top Quality Knives. Amazon is showing a combo edge, but the model number is for a plain edge. So if you order the knife through us you would receive a plain edge knife. We will ask Amazon to update their image. Again thank you for choosing Top Quality Knives and your business would be very much appreciated.
Question: What is the exact thickness of the handle
Answer: It’s sharp as a razor so that will be no problem but the blade may not be as thin as most fillet knives so it may not be as flexible as you may like for that..
Question: Is this a screw together design? Can this knife be disabled
Answer: Decently but will roll edge if cutting and roll up on a bone.
Question: I’m looking for handles only, mine cracked
Answer: I had no trouble getting mine. Available?

User questions & answers

Question: Is this made in the USA
Answer: 31 as per manufacturer - each side is 15 layers Damascus and a layer of VG10 in the middle
Question: Is the blade made of s30v or cts bd1n
Answer: Measuring the blade from the rounded edge of the handle to the tip it is just shy of 3 inches, approximately 2 15/16"
Question: How does the action compare to the para 3 g10 version
Answer: No. To remove the clip you'll need a t6 torx bit. To adjust the pivot you'll need a t8.
Question: What’s the weight on it and is this product made in the USA
Answer: Seki City Japan. Using VG-10 steel, FRN handle scales. It's a good quality knife and I did a lot of research before buying it, but at the end I bought it mostly because I loved how it looked. If it were me, I would buy an Ontario Rat Model 2. It looks more simple, but the craftsmanship is way better, zero blade play and built like a rock. And it is half the price. Also look at the Benchmade Mini Griptilian.

User questions & answers

Question: I own an edits 4 from knife. how long is the closed length of this version? also, is the stainless steel model better than the frn version
Answer: Mine cracked too. They called scales. I would try Ebay or maybe Amazon.
Question: Do you find the stainless steel handle slippery when wet? I'm concerned about the "Grip Factor
Answer: Got the spyderco in January 2020. Made in Japan.I love it have not used it much,Really to nice for a edc.
Question: Is this made in Japan
Answer: No rust as of yet on mine, but I also have some d2 with no rust either I’ve had for years. To counter have some s30v that has a couple spots. My understanding is even many of stainless steels will rust if not properly cared for.. just different levels of care. With that in mind there is a rust possibility for sure and I’d imagine a bit higher risk than an all stainless blade, but the compromise made for beauty
Question: Just trying to confirm that the photos, here on amazon.com are accurate(that is, aside from the blade simply showing as straight, where other selections, like serrated or combo, I know, are available)? As I have a particular disdain for logos and branding, in general, I noticed that the same "Endura 4 Stainless Steel

User questions & answers

Question: Why the two different prces for the same knife off amazon prime
Answer: 1 in wide (at the widest part) by 2 1/2 in long when closed. It's small enough to fit comfortably in the pocket of dress pants or the the little 5th pocket in jeans.
Question: How easily does the finish scratch off of the black blade version
Answer: Spyderco Endura 4 is 5 inches closed. The stainless steel model is a real brute of a knife and is heavy. If you are looking for a lightweight edc this is not the one but has a very tight lockup and is very sturdy.
Question: is the blade on this knife plain satin or black
Answer: I've never used it in really wet conditions but I've never had a problem with it being slippery. I also have the knife in G10 and it has a great grip with lots of traction but doesn't snag or rub on your clothes. It is also lighter than the stainless. I carry the G10 model the most.
Question: Is this knife made in US
Answer: The blade is forged in Seki City Japan which is actually a really good thing but I'm pretty sure that model is assembled in Colorado you can go to blade forum dot com and type in where are Spyderco knives assembled and that should answer all your questions

The burnt orange model would be C28FPBORE2 and does have a dull orange look to it. I hope this helps. Again thank you for contacting Top Quality Knives and as a third party seller on Amazon your business would be very much appreciated.

Endura 4 Signature Knife

Released in 1990, the original Spyderco Endura and its smaller counterpart, the Delica, literally redefined the concept of today’s folding knife. As the very first lightweight, clip-carry, one-hand-opening folders, they set a new standard. The fourth-generation Endura continues to set the standard as one of the best-selling folding knives ever made. In the process, it has also spawned an entire family of variations to meet virtually every user’s needs and preferences.

The direct descendants of the original model, Endura 4 Lightweights feature skeletonized stainless steel liners and injection-molded fiberglass-reinforced-nylon (FRN) handles. They come in a full spectrum of colors and a variety of different grinds, edge configurations, and blade steels.

Specialized versions include one with an Emerson Opening Feature that automatically opens the blade as the knife is drawn, a blunted red-handled trainer, and all-new hand-dyed Zome versions with multicolored handles.
