Answer:	12 TPI is the maximum set. I used it on a handsaw 35 years old and never sharpened. Couldn't cut butter. After sharpen and set cuts like new. Set wasn't far out, however with the attached magnifying glass I could see the slight movement when the anvil touched the teeth.

Answer:	15 tpi is extreme, very hard to see the alignment. You could file the hammer down a bit, if needed. Remember that today's hard point sawteeth are brittle!
