One of the Japanese Tools
There are a couple of differences between Western tools and Japanese tools.
In many cases, Japanese tools are lighter and simpler than Western ones because Japanese tools are minimally designed and there is no unnecessary waste.
Nowadays, the Japanese tools has become a popular tool in woodcrafting around the world due to its high quality.
Do you know about a “Pull Saw“?
This product is a pull saw.
Japanese saws cut materials via pulling and thus are called “pull saws.”
It requires less power, realizes exceedingly smooth and accurate cut, and results that the cutting-section is clean.
And particularly this saw's blade is sharper and thinner (0.02 inch), and has a greater number of teeth per inch (9 & 15 TPI) than comparable saws of its size.
This is a Ryoba Saw
A remarkable point of this Ryoba (Double Edge) Saw is that there are two blades in one saw - Cross-Cut and Rip-Cut.
Therefore you don’t have to change your tools: you only have to use it!
It is for time-saving and space-saving in your tool box.
If you have some difficulty using Western saws, once get to use a Japanese saw.
You will never go back to a conventional saw!
- JAPANESE STYLE PULL SAW: This product is a “Pull Saw.” What most people are used to are European saws, which cut materials via pushing, thus are called “push saws.” On the other hand, Japanese saws cut materials via pulling and thus are called “pull saws,” which is what this product is. In comparison to “push saws,” “pull saws” are lighter in weight, requires less power, and the resulting edge is cleaner.
- JAPANESE STEEL: All SUIZAN Japanese saws are consisted of top quality japanese steel. It uses high quality Japanese steel, which makes cuts to be sharp.
- MADE IN JAPAN: All SUIZAN products are manufactured in Japan by Japanese master craftsmen. With a history of over 100 years in making japanese hand tools, all of the process gone into making tools were completed in one of Japan’s towns known for their craft making tradition: Sanjō in Niigata

User questions & answers
Question: | Does the blade come with a cover to protect the teeth when not using it |
Answer: | I have cut 4X4 pine post to shape legs..it works perfectly fine. Be slow and it does its own work with super finish |
Question: | id like to buy all the suizan product line are the blades replaceable ? if so where can i order the Blades |
Answer: | Japanese saws are normally much too thin to track in a western mitre box .Also western saws you can alter the cut but japanese saws you can not .so if you go off course with a japanese saw it is better to start a different cut line. |
Question: | Hope long do blades last |
Answer: | It says 22 crosscut and 9 rip in the description. |
Question: | What other saws should i buy for a started set in addition to this saw |
Answer: | I don't believe there are any manufacturer's instructions in English. I own 3 Gyokucho Japanese Saws (including this one), and I found the best info regarding the proper use of this saw on that popular video site. Just do a search for "Using Japanese Pull Saws", and you will find a plethora of instructional videos. These saws do require a certain technique that is vastly different from their western counterparts, but once you see it done, you'll be able to start practicing it. And once you get the hang of it (mostly just a light touch and the proper cutting angle), you will really enjoy using this saw. |

User questions & answers
Question: | what is the length of the blade |
Answer: | Hey Mjcali, To receive the warranty extension, you would need to purchase the fuel or 2 stroke oil on the same order. The additional fuel or 2 stroke oil must be on the same receipt to have received the warranty. I would also recommend holding on to your receipt of your purchase in case any proof of purchase is required if any warranty service is required. You can read more about our fuel/oil warranty program here: https://www.husqvarna.com/us/support/extended-warranty-program/ I hope this helps! Thanks for considering Husqvarna for your outdoor power equipment needs! |
Question: | Suitable to more easily cut old weathered pallets? Quickness in sawing old pallets - not concerned with fineness of cut -will use for firewood starts |
Answer: | The two saws you mention are very similar in terms of features, weight, etc. The biggest difference is that the 445e II has a slimmer and more ergonomic design at 20 x 10 x 12.5 in as opposed to the 1845, at 39 x 11 x 12.5 in. Thanks for considering Husqvarna for your outdoor power equipment needs! |
Question: | How many teeth per inch |
Answer: | Ethanol is NOT recommended for any 2 cycle engine. Some states have gas stations with pumps that have no ethanol and they usually call it "sport fuel." For example, it is often found at marinas but it can also be found at some gas stations in states that allow the sale of non-ethanol gasoline for 2 cycle engines. There is actually a Android App produced by a foundation promoting non ethanol fuel. You can search for it on Google play. It will search by location to give you the closest station. Please remember that this chainsaw (Ruinopar) uses a totally different fuel to 2 cycle oil mixture. 20:1 for the break-in period and then 25:1 thereafter. Most premixed fuel sold at places like Lowes or Home Depot is 40:1 or 50:1. If you use this premix from these stores, make sure you modify the fuel to oil mixture with the addition of the necessary oil. |
Question: | where are these made |
Answer: | Yes, every machine comes with two chains. |

User questions & answers
Question: | how do you sharpen these saws after you use for awhile |
Answer: | Yes it comes with a standard saw blade. |
Question: | Is the saw handle riveted on or are there saw screws? If riveted, do you see that as an issue |
Answer: | I ordered and received a 10-30-23, 30 inch bow saw. I have used it successfully to cut large branches and tree trunks as large as 6 inches in diameter. Depending on what you plan to cut, the nose bow saw may be fine . I would guess the pointed nose model may be slightly more rigid than the one the I ordered, but I had no problems mine flexing. |
Question: | Is this a rip saw, or crosscut saw |
Answer: | It and the blade are made in Portugal |
Question: | Any suggestions for cleaning the coating off the blade? I have a few ideas but I'm looking for the best and quickest way |
Answer: | There is a narrow tab that runs the length of the guard that keeps the guard squeezed over the blade. This tab needs to be lifted until it is about 90 degrees to the guard. Once the tab is lifted the full length of the guard, the guard should be loose and can be carefully removed from the blade. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Where is the saw is made |
Answer: | It has one it can be moved easily to either side |
Question: | does the rs 7120 have a replacement blade |
Answer: | Yes, but it is next to useless. I like the saw, but you will probably find yourself looking to McGyver the dust bag. |
Question: | does it come with a sheath |
Answer: | It does not SLAM off, but comes to a stop VERY quickly, I would say "yes". |
Question: | How well does this saw rip a log down the middle |
Answer: | If you set the angle and do a test cut you can make this cut. For making picture frames, you will want to use a different blade. You may want to consider another type of saw for fine detail work with picture frames. If you do choose to go with this saw, you will want to make sure you have a tool to check the angle. You will want to use a blade with finer teeth. This saw does not have detents to lock in the angle so you will need to do some setup and some test cuts. This saw will do some great cuts if set up properly. |

Question: | Dose it come with a sheath |
Answer: | Hi there! It's in the product description at the top of the page https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00005LEXC?ref_=pe_527950_33920250_dpLink to the right of the photo of the saw. It's farther down the list of bullets. Click "See more" to get the whole list. |
Question: | How well does this saw rip a log down the middle |
Answer: | It's pretty easy to get it out with a little force. You could even go so far as to drill it out if needed replacing it with a bolt and wing nut isn't a bad idea. And again, it's only $10. |
