I say go ahead and buy it as a slip to cover the boning, but don't expect any more poof. I'd also get the largest size if you're getting it to go over a hoop.

Answer:	I guess you could clean in a sink. I would not recommend a washing machine for any of the parts. The one I have for grandkids never needed cleaning since they won’t play with it. It is too hard to get things in and out and the handle is too tight.
