Answer:	I don't advise using this for fine/detail work. I just did a door and two windows and couldn't apply a clean bead with a 3/16" hole. Since it was exterior, I cleaned up the excess until it was "good enough" but it was not as nice as it would have been if I used a manual gun. This unit is designed to relieve the pressure when you release the trigger. To get the caulk to flow again, you press the trigger and the plunger takes a moment to build up pressure. You can't "bump" the trigger to get a small amount of caulk, because each time you release the trigger the plunger backs off again. This "feature" helps prevent caulk from continuing, but the slowest speed is easily 2-3 times faster than I'd like for clean detail work.

Keep in mind this is much cheaper than most other comparable brands as they charge anywhere from a 100 to 150 dollars for just one battery. I myself use the smaller 18v 1.5 amp battery with this tool and it works fine.

Answer:	it depends on the product. If it's hot applied, it might kill the tool sooner than expected. The tool does have a sensor that will stop the pumping action if the material is too thick and there is excessive resistance. Its meant to stop the trigger when material runs out.
