Answer:	There is a slightly different approach for oil based paints. Instead of using warm water to clean the unit, you'd use a cleaning solvent like mineral spirits.
Question:	Would i have to thin benjamin moore's advance paint
Answer:	The Super Finish Max should be able to spray it with no thinning required, but extremely thick paints may need to be thinned down slightly. Spray your paint on a piece of cardboard to test for the right paint flow.

Answer:	No, the Super Finish Max does not require a compressor. It is a plug-in unit, which means all you need is a standard power outlet.

Yes, you can spray oil based paints, but you’ll need to make sure to use the proper spray tip. This sprayer comes with the 1.5mm, 2mm and 4mm tips of which you would use the 1.5mm for oil based paints, stains, polyurethane, etc. You can also purchase separately the 1mm tip for such things as sealer and varnish to obtain an even finer spray. Please note that there is also a 2.5mm and 3.5mm tips available as well. The suggested use for all these tips are explained in detail on page 5 of the manual. Thinning may be necessary and you should do so based on the paint manufacturer’s guidelines. Question:	Can i paint kitchen cabinets with this paint sprayer
Answer:	I didn't see any problem as low as you have the right paint. Just protect against over spray on things you don't want painted.
Question:	Is this electric or run by air
Answer:	Electric sprayer. But it is airless, you just plug it in to a 110 outlet...put the suction hose in a 5 gallon bucket of paint...and paint away!
Question:	If using outside, what sort of over spray does this create? I live on a busy street and don't want to end up getting cars parked nearby with overspray
Answer:	I've been a painter for over 20 yrs and used many sprayers, any paint atomized to spray will float 200 ft and stick to a car with very little breeze. Buy .01 mil plastic and cover any cars within 200 ft in the direction of any breeze, it the wind is blowing towards your back yard, paint quick before it changes direction. usually spray will settle within a 10 to 20 ft area from an outside wall with the most paint being in a 3 ft area below the wall. Plastic is cheaper than painting a nice car for someone else !!!
Question:	Can this spray benjamin moore advance paint (waterborne alkyd paint) unthinned? if yes, what size tip do i use
Answer:	The max spray tip is the key. I have a Graco X7 Magnum Pro and my max tip size is .017. This is found in the last two numbers of the number on the tip. So a tip marked 517 would mean that the spray tip orifice is .017. The “5” is half the width of the spray fan pattern. So the 517 tip would spray a pattern that is 10 inches wide (5 x 2) and would spray a paint that requires an .017 orifice which is a very thick paint. The orifice size requirement can be found in the paint specifications. This unit comes with a 515 tip, and I could not find the max tip size but I suspect this is it — .015 — which is a big orifice and can handle almost all latex or oil based paints but I would not use oil base in a sprayer because of clean up. Much easier to run water through it for clean up than mineral spirits. I am currently painting my deck and I’m using Sherwin-Williams Super Deck product which is thicker than normal paint, and I’m using a .015 spray tip. I’m using a 315 on the railings to limit overspray and conserve paint. The 315 will give me a 6” spray pattern and the .015 is within the manufactures specifications for this product. I could have used a .017 but it would have put out a lot more paint and made it a little more difficult to control overspray and conserve paint. I hope that helps. This is a great sprayer at a very good price, but follow the directions and make sure you clean it properly and use pump armor when stored.
Question:	Will it make Sharpies run if you use it over them on a hard/non porous surface
Answer:	In my yes.
Question:	Will this work on a porous surface like a painted coconut bicycle cup holder

Answer:	Why would you want to waterproof terra cotta pots. They were made to breath.
Question:	How is the viscocity out of the can, is it more like warm syrup or more like water...or somewhere in between? Thank you
Answer:	Maybe Slightly Thinner than warm Syrup, So probably between Warm Syrup & Water. A word of advice though, I had an extremely difficult time working with this product & had to sand and reapply many coats to get a satisfactory finish. It dries fast & if you run a brush over it after is has sat more than a minute it will create rough brush marks. Additionally if you apply more than a very thin layer it will crack similar to a crackle pattern. Unless you are putting this over a pure white background I would recommend that you use the standard "Crystal Clear" non-water based urethane. It has only a light yellow tint and is much easier to work with in my experience.

Question:	What is the dry time vs normal brush painting
Answer:	The drying time is based more on temperature and humidity vs brush or sprayer.
Question:	Can i use any kind of paint
Answer:	Yes, but you’ll need to change the pin out, which is included. The blue pin is for top coats and/or varnish, the green tip is for chalk/milk paint & the red tip is for latex paint. You’ll need to water down pretty much any & all paint, but it’s so easy! I was very scared to try when I first bought mine, but now it’s as easy as 1,2, 3!! Best decision I ever made was to buy this sprayer!! I refinish furniture, so I use it pretty often. Just make sure to clean out in between uses!
Question:	can I use semigloss paint for my kitchen cabinets in this sprayer
Answer:	Yes! Ive used semi-gloss paint in my sprayer! Just make sure if you use water based, you clean with water & soap. If your semi-gloss paint is oil based, then clean with mineral spirits! I love this sprayer...I use it for many projects! Good luck, practice before you tackle your kitchen cabinets, so you can work out the kinks prior to a huge kitchen job!

Answer:	I don't know if this one model does or not. Homeright Super Max does, it's worth the extra bucks. I've used mine with varnish, latex and Acrylic oil base paint. Best part is I did not dilute!!! Just pour and go. Love this machine, easy clean up and worth the price!!

The output increases and lessens the burden on the motor. You can go without adding water to thin it however there is a difference in output and you can smell and hear the motor working much harder.

Question:	Is this an electric sprayer or do you need an air compressor
Answer:	No air compressor is needed. It is electric powered, not air.
Question:	Do I need an air compressor for this? Or is this a stand alone tool
Answer:	The base unit has a blower or low-pressure compressor built in, no external compressor required. Make sure the base is sitting where it will pull in clean air, no dust or debris.
Question:	can this be used for oil base paints
Answer:	Yes. Cleaning oil-based primer took forever to clean because you must use mineral spirits and be sure to get every bit of it off the interior parts. Cleaning latex-based primer and paint out of the sprayer with soapy water was much easier but still time-consuming, especially since I tried to get every bit of primer/paint off the outside of the sprayer and pump in case I want to sell it if we ever finish the kitchen-painting project. I am an almost elderly homemaker, amateur painter, and I was able to use it successfully.
Question:	Has anyone use it as a Spray tan system
Answer:	I have. The turbine has similar specs (i.e. correct pressure and airflow) to some other HVLP spray tanning systems; however, for me the cup size was too large and spray pattern on the included nozzle made it difficult to not overspray. I purchased a wagner "spray tan cartridge attatchment" aka "Wagner Detail Front End Kit" (ASIN B00FDZDO32). It works ok but the cup size is still fairly large and tended to overspray . I have since replaced that gun with a "Maxi-Mist Spray Tanning Gun Replacement Lightweight" ($35 on ebay) and am happy with the results even though I had to adapt the hose to fit. Maxi-mist's MaxiMist™ Evolution TNT Spray Tanning System looks like the wagner painted all black and I wonder if the front end gun ($50) is compatible. I don't use this professionally but can say its works, especially with a purpose made gun. I got best results with the pressure set just above minimum.

Answer:	No! It has a 120VAC motor. You would need a transformerr to drop the voltage from 220 to 120. Also, you probably also have 50 Hertz AC power while these are designed to run at 60 Hertz (used to be called "cycles"). If that's the case, buy paint rollers and brushes!

Answer:	I've used this sprayer with KILZ stain blocker, you may have to add some FLOOD paint thinner but pay attention to how much you add to the size of can you are using, and only if your sprayer does not spray well with the stain blocker off the shelf. Also consider using a different tip if you don't get the results you desire.

Answer:	Totally depends on paint used. Water for latex, mineral spirits or paint thinner for oil based, or lacquer thinner for lacquer based metal paints.

Answer:	The hose is NOT 100' long it is shipped with a 25' hose. The unit is designed to allow use of 100' of hose. The wheels will not let the unit roll around freely without tilting it back first so they are not the problem on a scaffold. That said, I would still discourage putting the pump on a scaffold.

Answer:	X5 comes with a 515, and has a Max Tip Size of .015" (i.e. 215, 315, 415, 615). It is not recommended you use a tip size higher than .015 due to the HP & Amps not being sufficient for proper flow rate & application -- putting a larger tip size does not ensure proper application, and MOST on-the-shelf latex paint will go through a .015 tip, with the pressure adjusted accordingly. Answer:	US 220/240 volt is a dual line split phase - therefore if you need 110volt you only use one load line instead of both along with the neutral or common and a ground line. So in the US you could but would need an adapter line made to your 220 plug. In Europe they use a single phase / single load line and if this machine were used there it would require a power converter (rated to at least 1500 watts continuous) to step the voltage down from their 220v to the machines 110v.

Just make sure the unit's flow rate (x5 is 0.27 GPM) meets or exceeds the rated flow rate of the tip you're buying to be sure. You can go up to 0.016 with the x5 if you're using Graco's Fine Finish tips since the currently available 516 and 616 fine-finish (green) tips are rated at 0.27 GPM (which matches the x5's output capacity). Also, you *must* check the data sheet for the paint you'll be using to ensure you're using the right tip orifice size. For example, Sherwin-Williams Emerald exterior acrylic satin (K48 series) specifies a tip size of 0.015 - 0.019 for airless spray application. Note that the maximum recommended tip size for this unit is also the minimum tip size required for the Emerald paint, so in this scenario, you *must* use 0.015 and nothing else. Question:	Can this model spray solid stain for say a fence or deck? Not the thinner semi-transparent or transparent stuff

The latex paint I sprayed was about the thickest one can paint, and this gun did a wonderful job. Just keep in mind, I was told by our local paint dealer that once you use this with an oil base paint or stain, it will not work well if you want to use it later for latex.

Answer:	If it's not flammable and no thicker than latex paint, yes. But the spray tips aren't nearly fine enough for decent auto painting.

Question:	can it use exterior latex paint
Answer:	Yes, you can use any oil or latex based paint, primer, or stain. It just requires extensive cleaning when finished to maintain functionality. This sprayer is designed to use latex paint WITHOUT thinning regardless of what people who have not read the manual say. If you have "globiness" issues, it's an easy fix: call the troubleshooting number and they will walk you through the steps to correct it. There is a piece in the nozzle that can be out of place upon purchase and its a simple matter of placing it in its proper place. Once it is corrected, the sprayer functions perfectly.
Question:	I just used my sprayer for the first time. I cannot seem to unscrew the container off of the system so I can clean/refill it. What am I doing wrong
Answer:	My experience on this has been that it is a very tight fit between the paint cup and the paint head. it is not easy to grab the bottom of the cup, it's so very smooth. It does have flat ridges but it still is very tight hard to grip. I suggest you remove the powerhead and then with the paint cup between your feet, turn the paint head counterclockwise, you will have a better grip with your feet if its that tight. .When you get the paint head off, double check to see that you don't have paint up on the treads inside and out. You may want to put a light coating of Vaseline on the threads inside and out, then screw it on and off a couple of times to spread the vaseline. This may help.
Question:	will this spray latex primer (kils) ... how much thinning req .. will work okay
Answer:	Yes it will spray primer. I did not have to thin it at all. I did not use Kilz, I used Zinser 123 with the fine mist application jar. I used 2 coats, but that is just me, I wanted every thing to be covered. Then I used latex paint. I did not need to thin it out but I added Flotrol so the paint would take longer to dry, which makes for a very even application. I used it on a vanity, draws, and doors. I am planning on painting my kitchen cabinets next. It is an extremely good sprayer and I tried several.
Question:	What is the difference between the Flexio 570 and the Flexio
Answer:	The essential difference is that the 570 has two speed settings and the 590 has an adjustable dial for additional speeds.

Answer:	If the polycrylic(? unsure of your spelling) is oil-based it raises the degree of difficulty from a maintenance standpoint. I have a dedicated sprayer for water-based and one for oil-based
