Can't speak from experience about basecoat directly over the top but I know of several people who use epoxy primer in general as a final sealer coat before the base color coat with no problems. I don't find it necessary to do that. As for me, I use this product direct to metal, then regular urethane 2 part primer and spray the color over the urethane primer. I use fast or medium reducer depending on temp to thin it out enough to get a good spray pattern so yes, reducer works ok for me. |

- Custom Shop – KEP Series Anti-Corrosive Epoxy Primer / Sealer is a 1 to 1 Mix Ratio high performance primer specifically designed to be used DTM (Direct to Metal). KEP Series Primer contains an advanced resin technology system that offers superior adhesion to Bare Metal, Steel, Bare Aluminum, Fiberglass, Gelcoat. Body Fillers and most properly prepared Rigid Plastics and sanded OEM Finishes.
- KEP Epoxy Primer is Lead and Chromate Free and its formulation contains a rich blend of Anti-Corrosive additives to achieve maximum defense against rust and corrosion. It also offers excellent salt spray resistance and is a fast dry product.
- Custom Shop – KEP Series Epoxy Primer is great as a DTM primer but also can be used as an excellent sealer for all single stage Urethane and Basecoat Clearcoat. If used as a sealer add 1/2 part of XR70 or UR70 reducer, topcoat or basecoat can be applied in 30 minutes. Using KEP allows for excellent topcoat gloss holdout.
- Available in Gray, Black and White in 1 quart kits, 2 quart kits, gallon kits and 2 gallon kits. Great for Automotive and Industrial applications. KEP is compatible with and can be top coated with most Automotive Paint brands like Custom Shop, Restoration Shop, PPG, House of Kolor, Valspar, etc.

| Answer: | You can paint over within 24 hours, any longer you need to scuff with atleast a scothbrite or 240-320 for primer 400-600 grit for top coat. |

| Answer: | I would double check with the manufacturer but expoxy when cured has no open pores so it does not let anything penatrate it even water. you would be fine for the monthes it is the closest thing to factory E-coat. |

| Answer: | 1 gallon should do 2 coats, but you will need more if doing inside the bed and all. Each quart needs a quart of activator. Buy as a kit. |

| Answer: | Absolutely. Epoxy primer is a SEALER. It is not and should not be, called a primer to begin with. It is also not meant to be sanded. Spray a coat or two on everything you are going to primer and paint. |

| Answer: | It adheres just fine. I shoot with 1.8 DV FinishLine but really even a cheap gun with the right tip would do fine. Its good primer. It is black so you need to take that into consideration. You will also need a light color guide coat. IMHO shoot gray unless you have dark final coat |

| Answer: | It's called Galvanized steel because it's coated with zinc to prevent it from rusting, so it doesn't matter what kind of steel or iron is used. Galvanized is galvanized. I'm assuming it's due to the oil based paint reacting with the zinc. |
