Answer:	Thank you for your responses. I am glad the product works for general use but some applications require the use of reflectors with formal DOT certification. If this tape was DOT certified I am sure it would be clearly marked (possibly even on the tape itself) since it would be a strong selling point. Unfortunately DOT tape seems to only be available in 50' + lengths which then costs $100!

Answer:	Even though the adhesive backing was very strong, it did not hold through a wash-cycle. It will hold in the rain a few times but water will eventually separate it from fabric. It is made to adhere to flat, non-porous surfaces, not fabric exposed to water & elements. Hope this will help
Question:	I want to put this on a bike messenger bag made of ballistic nylon; will it last and stay on, especially after some time in the rain
Answer:	I highly doubt it will stay on your messenger bag. I tried to stick it to my waterproof backpack which has a rubberized coating and the tape didn't stay on for more than a couple minutes. I was able to transfer the tape to my bicycle fenders and it has stayed on the fenders for about 10 months.The problem with sticking it on your messenger bag is that the tape isn't flexible in multiple directions whereas the nylon for your bag will flex under the tape and cause the tape to fall off.If you had something that only lightly flexed or does not flex at all then this would stick for months (or possibly years), but you'll be disappointed trying to stick this to fabric.
Question:	I would like to put this on my dogs coats, does it stick to cloth
Answer:	It sticks to stiff fabrics ok, but very fleixible fabircs, it sticks poorly, and I imagine the same for the fur of your dogs' coats (lol). Plus it's kind of cruel to do that to the poor animals. It does hold better if you can wrap the tape all the way around a piece of fabric, like a draw string or a handle, or the tip of the dogs tail.

Answer:	Yes, but you have to adjust the setting as this stuff is a little thicker than normal vinyl.

Answer:	I've not tried it on fabric. Sticks very well to hard surfaces such as my helmet.

Answer:	I am assuming that you are speaking of cutting letters out of this tape and having the aluminum rims show through. This tape definitely reflects light back to it's source but not a BRIGHT reflection like regular silver or white Scotchlight 3M tape. It is a compromise of a jet black wide tape that reflects back a light grey reflection. If you really wish the cutout letters to brightly "pop", I would lay down 3M 2" white, silver or even Solas Ocean Rescue reflective tape and then apply the black reflective over it. I used the tape to cover the sides of the frame on my Tacoma pickup between the front and rear wheels. Doesn't show in daylight, but definitely shows that there is a mass of metal between the front and rear corner light bulbs, which is what I wanted for cross traffic to see.

Question:	Is it suitable for a kayak paddle? i.e. constant immersion for 4 hours at a stretch. Thanks
Answer:	I bought some of this tape over a year ago, and my usage has exposed some of it to full sun and weather for that entire time. The adhesive is very good, and its marketing shows it in use on cars and boats with no apparent problems. Regarding its possible use on kayak paddles, I suspect is could work well with a few caveats. If yours are paddles, the tape adhesive would would actually be bonding to the sealing surface on that wood. Its ultimate bond capacity would in no small part depend on the varnish/clear finish-to wood bond tightness. If the paddles are plastic, the bond might depend a bit on the surface texture of that plastic: smooth plastic, no problem; rough textured plastic could possibly pose a bonding problem over time, depending on roughness. In any case though, the purchase cost allowing you to field test might be worth giving it a try. The odds seem (to me) are much better than even.

Question:	The rear grill of my tv is made from rounded bars. Will this adhere lengthwise to those bars? I tried some other tape that quickly began to peel

Answer:	I also purchased, they worked out awesome. I use them for my Bell Stoker helmet, Barely visible in regular lighting, but at night they glow like cats-eyes when headlights shine on them. I would definitely recommend.
