Answer:	They are less than an inch in diameter. I am able to comfortably close all my honeycomb shades, as they are very slim. They work great, emit a warm glow and turn on and off as outlined in their description. The only unusual thing is that to load the batteries, you have to unscrew the plastic "flame" tip and try varying combinations of putting the batteries in because they do not give an embossed battery plan inside the housing. The weight of the batteries serve to "weight" the candlestick entirely. Without the batteries, the candlesticks fall over. These candles would be great for recreating a "Harry Potter Hogwarts Castle" scene for a party or a kid's bedroom if you suspend the candles from the ceiling with clear plastic monofilament (fishing line).
Question:	Does the flame flicker
Answer:	No. You set it once and it keeps going infinitely (5 hours on and 19 hours off..they turn off and on automatically each day or night at whatever time you set them to) until you turn it off or the batteries run out. Mine lasted 33 days straight, then I turned them off, removed the batteries for storage and put them away until next year. Be sure to put fresh batteries in again with each new year of usage. I loved using these and can hardly wait until the holiday season to use them again. They did exactly what they said they would do, just like clockwork!

I turned ours on at dusk (around six p.m. here) and it goes until 11p.m. It will continue this every night until the batteries give out - several months or so. If you don't like the timing you set the first time, simply turn it off and then turn it on again for the five hour period you prefer.

Answer:	Start by turning candle on at base. Press 4or8 hour mode. Do this at the time you wish the candle to light. Choose mode - flicker or steady. If you make a mistake go back and turn candle off at base and then back on.
