Answer:	Yes, you can put either a 40 watt bulb or a 60 watt bulb and I think that should be enough light to read by. I have a lamp in my living room with a 40 watt bulb and I read my books by it.

Answer:	The 40 watt bulb should work. If the lamp shade is on wrong it will look like is sticking out. I put a 60 watt in mine and it didn’t stick it.

Answer:	It says on it to use a 40-watt max bulb. This is a very cute light but due to the "double" shade the amount of light given off from even 40 watt is dimmer than usual. If you are hoping for a bright light, this is one is probably not for you.
