Answer:	for the 10" x 12" x 7" size listing, to clarify, i phoned the company (royal) directly. ...the amazon descriptions here of these shades are calling the stated measurements "diameters" but since the shades are oval in shape and not round, the term "diameter" is misleading and does not correctly convey the correct size or shape of these lamp shades, or appropriately apply to any oval-shaped lamp shade. yes, 10" is longest top measurement, 12" is longest bottom measurement, and height of shade is 7", but unfortunately that does not specify what the shorter measurements of the shade are at top and bottom, and that info is missing from the posted description. ...for the 10" x 12" x 7" shade, the actual measurements, according to royal, are as follows: shade size at top = 10" x 6", shade size at bottom = 12" x 7.5", and shade height is 7". ...this additional info should be included in the listings for each oval shade size and we should not be left to wonder or have to phone royal, the manufacturer, for that very relevant info. ...i did not ask for the full measurements of the other sizes, since the 10" x 12" x 7" was the only size i was interested in.

Answer:	Yes! They will clip directly onto an incandescent bulb or onto LED's as I am using. I think they will fit on anything except for coiled CFLs.
