The lamp also bends, much like a goose-necked light so that I can use the magnifier to see my work up closely. The one problem I have noticed, however, is that the light wants to separate from the pole. The other day I used the light & magnifier to correct a mistake in my knitting. Amazing. The mistake was corrected and I didn't have to start the sock over. I hope I answered your question. I would have liked to see more stability in the connection at the pole.

HOW TO-

A simple tap of the power button located just under the gooseneck is all it takes to turn your Litespan on. Tap the "M" button right above the power button to switch between the three color temperature settings. To change between brightness levels, tap the up and down arrows until the desired brightness level is reached.

Answer:	Depends upon the size and proportions of the chair plus the lamp's position relative to the chair I would guess. I use it as an adjunct to my Yamaha P-45 digital piano. Absolutely love this lamp. Absent unusual circumstances I can't imagine the switch not being convenient. As I sit on my piano bench, the switch is roughly shoulder height (I'm 5'9").
