Answer:	Nothing was mentioned in the material I received. But, with confidence I would say no. The top lid is not thick enough to protect items inside from high heat. The inside is not air tight or waterproof. If that is required, I would look to a heavier-duty safe that clearly states its fire proof rating.
Question:	Can you drill a hole in the side for a cable lock
Answer:	I can't see how that would work, since the cable would pass thru the drawers. However, there are mounting holes on the underside, and there are screws provided. It is intended for mounting on a horizontal surface. The instruction manual reads (in part): "IMPORTANT Mounting the safe vertically so that the door flips upward will result in incomplete opening of the save due to weight. The door will open if the safe is mounted vertically so that door opens down or to the side."

Answer:	This Product was designed to specifically work with Curve Side Mailboxes. Now, we do have folks that have bought this product and placed it inside community mailboxes (with 20 to 30 slots) because they also have gotten water intrusion. The only problem is that those slots in the community mailboxes are not very tall and as such they will lose one inch of high.
