Answer:	I really can’t answer as I have not used ikea covers.
Question:	My ceilings are really high and I need the rods/chain to hang down about 8 feet from a sloped ceiling. Is this possible with this chandelier? Thanks
Answer:	I found the secret! Heat is the enemy with these kinds of blankets and throws. Wash on cold, gentle cycle, and either air fluff in the dryer (takes two and a half to three times as long, but it will dry), or just hang over a few chairs to air dry. No fabric softener. Half as much laundry soap as you usually use. You can also add a cup of water mixed with 1/4 cup of vinegar (white or apple cider) to the rinse water. That cuts any soap residue, acts as a softener, and does not make it smell like vinegar. But, the biggest issue is any heat will destroy the softness...it literally melts the fabric just enough to where it’s not soft, or as soft, anymore.

Answer:	It is not very heavy, but keeps me warm and is soft to the touch.
Question:	How long are the rod sections exactly? What is the shortest you can make the hanging height with rods

Answer:	The light comes assembled. The rods are connected to a center disk. To configure theme light you have to spread out the rods. You can spread them apart alot to make the light 42" in diameter or spread them apart slightly to make a smaller diameter. I think some of the pictures may show the light being used on either side of a bed and the rods are spread apart slightly to make the light more vertical.

Answer:	I would say it is about 18" from ceiling but we flipped the globes up instead of hanging down. If you leave them down it would probably add another 5-6 inches to the 18".

Answer:	Looking at my light, you can reduce the chain down to a single chain link and that one link would connect the rod to the ceiling plate. This would not only join & hold the two parts together, it would allow for some limited movement of the fixture, if needed. Best of success.
