Answer:	These are replacement blades. Had to cut holes in mine. Worked fine.

Answer:	No...they are made specifically for this fan. The brackets need to be taken apart via. screwdriver, blade placed between the two brackets and then put brackets back together and then assemble to the fan. I (personally) did not do this, my husband did, and it looked rather simple.

Answer:	I did a lot of looking for a hardwired fan controller that offered all the original functions of my fan. This was the only I found that had any sort of acceptable rating.

Answer:	The sw140 is for a single light. This is for an indirect/direct light. It would try something more on the lines of Hampton Bay 191 707 in wall fan switch, that has the same functions. May still have to drop the fan and replace receiver.

Answer:	The blades are a solid matte black. Not sure material, but I would guess some type of heavy duty plastic or something. They look great. I am very pleased with this fan. We have 2 in our large vaulted great room and they are quiet and move the air well.

Answer:	It has two parts. One for the fan save one for the light. Both have arrows up and down to change the speed. There's also three buttons with 1,3 and 6 hr timer if you don't want it to stay on.
