Answer:	I would think so. Basically, as long as it is positioned so that only one of the breakers can be "on" at a time, you should be good to go. Mine has a 4-leg main breaker,vertical throw and I placed my generator 2-leg, horizontal throw breaker in top left slot. When one is on, the other should be prevented from movement into the on position. If both can be turned on at the same time, just reposition lockout until that is not possible.1/4" height difference shouldn't matter since you have to manually position it and drill mounting holes anyway, just accommodate where needed.

The Square D QO 30/100 Amp 4-Space 8-Circuit Temporary Transfer Generator Panel helps you change from utility power to a standby source with the flip of 2 QO main circuit breakers. The panel is intended for outdoor use to connect to a standby power source for as many as 8 circuits. The ANSI-certified and UL-listed unit features a mechanical interlock to help ensure that only 1 main circuit breaker is in the on position at any time.

How does it work?

The main breaker and the generator main breaker are factory installed and mechanically interlocked allowing the user the switch between utility and generator power. The 30A generator power inlet, which connects the external generator to the panel, is factory wired to the generator main breaker. These features allow the power source to be changed simply by turning the appropriate main breaker 'On' or 'Off'. Square D offers a 20A and 50A version of this panel should a homeowner want less or more power for their particular need. The correct size inlet is also included prewired on these versions. (QO1DM10020TBR (100A/20A)) and (QO1DM10050TRBR (100A/50A)).
