Question:	Does this filter remove hormones
Answer:	The answer "ROES-50 system uses a high quality, .0001 micron Reverse Osmosis membrane and 3 carbon filters so it is designed to remove high levels of hormones and pharmaceutical drugs from water" is troublesome. Terms like "high quality" and "high levels" are arbitrary, and it's a safe bet people don't want arbitrary amounts of contaminants removed.
Question:	Hi apec, i see your offshore imitator is offering transparent 1st stage filter housings, why don't you offer one as well
Answer:	I bought the ROES-50 RO system in January 2016 and for the most part it has been great. Bought the pump to go with it as well as an auxiliary accumulator tank to use in addition to the smaller bladder tank that comes with the system so we can draw a couple of gallons of RO water at near full pressure at one go (set to 60 psi), and have the output plumbed to the sink faucet and two refrigerators with ice makers and water dispensers. I say all of this to say that I change the filters quite a bit and that it would be nice to be able to see the condition of the filters without having to shut off the supply from the house plumbing, and shut off both of the pressure tank valves as well as the system backfeed valve I installed just to get a look at the filters. I have a well and have two of the "dreaded" clear Whirlpool whole home water filter units, one at point of entry before the well bladder tank, and one after my water softener system and before my UV sterilizer, both of which have been in service for 18 years without issue. Everything is installed in my utility room on the wall for easy access, and I replace the O-rings in the filter housings about every third filter change and wash the housings out with a bleach solution, rinse them well and lubricate the O-rings with silicone grease when installing new filters every time I change a filter, and never ever tighten any of them tighter than hand tight unless there is a drip, but I can't recall there ever being one. I don't understand why people have filter housings break unless they are being over tightened, installed in a harsh environment exposed to the elements, or somewhere where they are subject to being hit with things and getting damaged physically, or in direct sunlight and subjected to UV radiation. Therefore I wish there was an option to purchase clear housings for the ROES-50 filters in order to make proper maintenance as easy as the rest of my system, because other than that, the only complaint I have with the ROES-50 is that the white bladder tank that came with it leaks air and I have to repressurize it about every six months. The larger blue auxiliary tank I bought has yet to need to be repressurized.

Answer:	well you could filter salt water with it, but it still wouldn't be potable to humans =)

Answer:	You'll have to go on the data sheet from the manufacturer on the filter fiber diameter since no consumer can reasonably measure the filter tube diameters. And you'll have to do research on bad virus sizes to determine if those viruses will be blocked. But I'll say as a consumer of this filter over twelve days on the trail, serving 4 people (48 people-days) on the AT, no gastro-issues. And the filtering flow rate is amazingly fast.
Question:	Does this system come with a faucet or must that be ordered additionally
Answer:	Everything that you see illustrated. There are two reservoirs, the filter and the hose. The only thing not included is the optional carbon filter which isn't neccessary. If you do opt to purchase the carbon filter, keep in mind that it slows down the filtration time drastically.

Answer:	The 5-year expected life of the EPINL30 is based on a maximum usage of 1500 gallons annually. High levels of sediment or iron in the water supply may clog the filter and reduce its life.
Question:	does this work for septic systems
Answer:	The filter housing alone is 10 inches long.

Answer:	I would just use a strong tape. Mine is just on the floor next to it to keep the refrigerator closest to the wall.

Step 1

Turn off the cold water shut-off valve to the filter system and dispense water from kitchen faucet until water flow stops

to relieve pressure.

Step 2

Turn arrow on the filter from locked to unlocked position.

Gently pull down to remove cartridge and discard.

NOTE: Place a pan or bucket under the filter system to catch any water drips.

Step 3

Line up arrow on the new cartridge with unlocked position on head, insert cartridge, and turn to locked position.

Question:	What's the advantage of this water filter compared to a reverse osmosis system
Answer:	We chose this system because we wanted to have something that doesn't produce waste water. Since this is not a reverse osmosis system, it doesn't lower the TDS. We're on city water so it's perfect for us since our TDS is only around 56. Also, it doesn't remove the healthy minerals from the water like an RO system does. It doesn't require a storage tank either so we could fit this unit in a cabinet above our fridge! Everything worked out great for us.
Question:	What is no pressure faucet and why do you need it for this filter
Answer:	That's a great question...Normally, when an under sink filter is installed, the filter is "inline" with your water line and sees the full pressure of your home's waterline at all times...(it's a 2-way valve). So if your water line is typically at 60 psi, that is the pressure that your filter experiences when your water filter valve is closed. This is a problem, since the filter system is the weakest link in your water line, and if the filter fails while under pressure, you have a flood in your home...This filter system has a 4 way valve, so when the valve is open, the water from your water line is directed to the inlet of your filter...When the water valve is closed, the water line pressure is isolated from the filter, and the inlet of the filter is connected to the outlet of the filter (no pressure on the filter) So your filter never sees the full pressure of your water line...This virtually eliminates the potential for catastrophic flooding due to a filter failure...I had a precious under sink filter system and every time I changed the filter the filters would leak, because they were always under pressure and the o-ring system in the filter housing was compromised...This is not a problem for me now because with the 4-way valve in this system, when the valve is closed, the filter has zero pressure on it...

Answer:	The actual gallon life will vary from customer to customer. As with all replaceable filter cartridges, they have limited space to hold the contaminants they remove from your water. This means that the higher concentration of junk you have in your source water, the faster the filters will run out space to keep filtering and vice versa. The average is about 1100 gallons, but this number may not represent your source water, so individual results could either be more or less than the average.

Can the system reduce TDS?

To come straight to the point, TDS value isn’t directly related to water quality.

TDS stands for total dissolved solids. The higher the TDS is, the more impurities water contains. But what are impurities on earth? No matter beneficial natural minerals or harmful substances, they are all regarded as impurities in water.

As a result, water quality can’t be determined only by TDS value. It is just one of standards that reflect water condition and you can’t conclude that water with low TDS is definitely of good quality.

TDS has more influence on water taste, not overall water quality.

Answer:	According to the product description its capacity is "30 sheets." I measured our office paper and that's about 4mm, or about 1/8 of an inch. The description I found of the replacement cutting head for the 440 said that it cuts up to 7 sheets of paper at a time, so it might require 4 passes.

Answer:	While there is no guide to show where the blade is going to cut, on the rolling style trimmers it is very easy to see where the cut will be. It is just beyond the clear plastic clamp that the paper slides under. You can roll the cutting head slightly toward your material and see where that exact cut will be.

The CuZn UC-200 carries a comprehensive 5-year prorated warranty on the system’s performance life. In the unlikely event you run into a premature expiration prior to reaching 5 years of use, simply call or email CuZn requesting warranty replacement. CuZn will review the symptoms of early expiration reported by the customer and will also investigate the local municipal water system's water quality testing data in order to customize the warranty replacement UC-200 filter system set up provided so that the premature expiration does not occur again.

Answer:	Hello Daniel, great questions thanks for asking! The KDF-55 Media creates a bacteriostatic environment within the filtration system, preventing microbial growth. The oxidation/reduction potential (ORP) shift by a factor of -300mV or more for water filtered through KDF redox media controls microorganism growth. Treating water reduces bacteria and other microorganisms by disrupting electron transport, causing cellular damage. KDF process media also kill bacteria by direct electrochemical contact and by the flash formation of hydroxyl radicals and hydrogen peroxide, both of which interfere with a microorganism's ability to function. When it comes to fluoride, it only reduces the levels by 20-30% on average, not a high enough percentage for us to claim as a benefit.

Question:	Does it make sence to upgrade this system with deionization filter when it has alkaline filter
Answer:	Smart Flow Sensor Switch powers on/off UV light automatically by water flow, so it must be installed after the storage tank where water flow is high enough, if you install it before the storage tank the water flow will be to slow for the Sensor Switch to turn the light on.
Question:	Is there an indicator that tells you when the filters need replacing, or do you guess ~6 months for uv light and the ph cartridge & 12 for membrane
Answer:	TWS is more powerful than ows. 55w compare to 40W. We normally suggest our customer install the OWS unit horizontally. Cause vertically installation might need extra support if the pipe is plastic. But that was not a problem for TWS system.
Question:	how many gallons of water is wasted to make 1 gallon of filtered water
Answer:	As long as you protect it from freezing, it has to be plugged in, we have it installed inside. We are on a well, have a sediment filter, a carbon filter then the UV water purifier installed in the same line. Going to get a test kit and test the water for bacteria and see how well it does.

Answer:	There's no indicator, but I would think the flavor of the water would be a good indication that it needs to he replaced. Our water tastes bad out of the tap and the filter removes it. Once bad flavor returns, we'll change it.

Answer:	If you are referring to the pipe being crooked it will be held in place by the Control head. Control head should not be crooked, if it is you have it cross threaded.

Can this system reduce TDS?

Please note that this Undersink Water Filtration System cannot reduce TDS.

TDS stands for total dissolved solids. It is composed of inorganic salts and a small amount of organic matter. This filter cannot lower the TDS value because it removes harmful substances while retaining minerals such as potassium, calcium, sodium, and magnesium, which are beneficial for your body.

Can the system filter well water?
