Sometimes, the superheated steam gets trapped in the packaging and condenses back into water as it cools. Answer:	The 3 1/4 inches refers to the diameter of the flush valve, not the diameter of the flapper. You need to install a new flush valve if you are using the standard one which is smaller. This is a high quality flapper which should last for many years. Mine lasted more than 10 years before it lost its firmness and became more difficult to flush. Good luck!

The Aqua-Pure® AP817 Water Filter Cartridge helps reduce chlorine taste and odor as well as particulate and rust, providing clearer, more appealing water throughout the whole house. The carbon filter cartridge provides a high flow for up to six months before replacement.

The cartridge is manufactured by 3M Purification Inc., formerly CUNO Incorporated. It uses granular activated-carbon media to reduce chlorine taste and odor, has a 25-micron filtration rating for particulate reduction, and a flow rate of 10 gallons/38 liters per minute. The cartridge operates at temperatures from 40-100°F/4.4-37.8°C. It is for use with the following Aqua-Pure Systems: AP801, AP801-C, AP801T-C, AP801-1.5-C. The cartridge should be replaced every six months, or sooner if a noticeable reduction in flow rate occurs.

Whole-house water treatment systems range from simple canisters with disposable filter cartridges to complex systems of tanks and filters for different contaminants. Answer:	I have used this filter mainly to remove the chlorine taste from city water. The filter does remove "particulates"* (As tested and verified by the manufacturer's laboratory).As a homeowner using this filter I found that the calcium/lime deposits no longer collect in my tea kettle.

Answer:	The AP810 is just a sediment filter. It filters down to 5 microns and has a flow rate of 20gpm. For some reason the 810 has gone up igniiantly in price, but you can still buy generic sediment filters in bulk for about $8 each. The AP817 is a carbon filter that also filters sediment down to 25 microns and has a flow rate of 10gpm. It is designed to take chlorine out of the water, to remove odors, and to improve the taste of the water. So it depends on what you want to do. If you just want to remove sediment and are happy with the taste of your water, then the 810 will do the trick. If your water doesn’t have any sediment, but you want to remove the chlorine and improve the taste, then the 817 will be fine. If you have sediment and want to improve the taste, then you might want both. The 810 will remove finer sediment than the 817 and will extend the life of the 817. Its much cheaper to replace a generic 810 every month or two, than to replace an 817.
