Answer:	I had a counter faucet system with 1/4" tube. So I found Watts Quick Connect couplings PL-3021 that go from 1/4" to 3/8". Cut 2 pieces the 3/8" tubing 4" and inserted into the new filter housing and then inserted the 1/4" existing tubing into the couplers.

Answer:	Your question is fundamentally wrong- 3US-PF01 and 3US-AF01 are both filters! But they both will fit 3US-AS01 system if that what you meant in your question.

Answer:	No, it will not convert non-potable water into potable (safe to drink) water. This filter actually comes (found on the Performance Data Sheet) with a warning from the manufacturer - "Do not use with water that is microbiologically unsafe or of unknown quality without adequate disinfection before or after the system. Systems certified for cyst reduction may be used on disinfected water that may contain filterable cysts. EPA Establishment number 070595-CT-001". This filter (3US-PS01, 3US-PF01) does filter cysts (based on protozoan Cryptosporidium parvum oocysts). However, bear in mind that these oocysts are way bigger than most bacteria (e.g., E. coli). This filter doesn't filter bacteria.

Answer:	The filter is inserted into the mount and twisted to lock in place. If you look at the picture of the filter with the cap removed you will see two O Ring's that seal the unit when installed in it's mount. Those seals keep the filter from leaking and will do so as long as they are not damaged during handling.

Answer:	Haven't seen it. This filter so far is as good as the Filtrete. I would purchase again.
Question:	This one has much better flow than the Filtrete. Is it filtering out less since there is better flow
Answer:	Most definitely... There is less density of filter material and less contact time for certain types of impurities to be removed. There's really no way around that for heavy metals, trace levels of pharmaceuticals, etc. But, when it comes to taste and your particular water supply, it may make no difference, since your water may not contain perceptible levels of those sorts of impurities! For instance, chlorine taste and sediment do not need that type of treatment. Therefore, a lesser degree of filtration may be perfect for your water.
Question:	Will this fit the filtrete 3us-max-s
Answer:	Maybe. Terrible answer to a good question. The product quality / sizing is not consistent. The last time I used this filter, my equipment was destroyed. Flooded my kitchen. Do yourself a favor. But the real thing. Not cheap brands.
Question:	Is this filter NSF certified? i don't see that on the label, as i do with the filtrete filter
Answer:	The description says that the materials used to make the filter are tested and certified (against NSF 372 standard) by the WQA to be lead free. WQA is an ANSI-accredited certification body. However, it hasn’t been tested and certified against NSF 42 and 53. These are the standards used to test and certify (by ANSI-accredited certification bodies) if water filters can filter out certain contaminants (e.g., particulates, chlorine, taste, odor, cysts, lead) to acceptable levels. It’s really frustrating the way overseas-made water filters are marketed here. Thy usually try to deceive non-technical consumers by claiming their product has been tested and certified. When you read the fine print, it’s just the materials they used that have been tested and certified. The performance of their filters (to filter out contaminants) haven’t been tested and certified. I wish the EPA and FDA would actually require water filters sold here to be tested and certified by ANSI-accredited certification bodies.

Cartridge Specifications

The Easy Filter Replacement Cartridge is manufactured from FDA CFR-21 compliant materials and has a maximum operating pressure of 125 psi (862 kPa). It provides a flow rate of 2.00 gallons per minute (7.8 liters per minute), has a capacity of 2,000 gallons (7,571 liters), and can be used at a maximum water temperature of 100°F (37.8°C). Designed for use in a single-cylinder in-line water filtration system, the cartridge treats a large volume of water while fitting neatly into a small space. Notice, however, that the cartridge doesn't bear any certification logo. That's because they can't display a certification logo if they haven't been certified. All that you can see on the cartridge is "Member of Water Quality Association". That doesn't mean anything. To quote from the WQA website, "Membership to the trade organization does not mean WQA has performed any testing or certification of professionals or products, these functions are separate."It's up to us consumers to be very critical about the products they purchase. Answer:	It hasn’t been tested and certified to remove lead. The description says that the materials used to make the filter are tested and certified (against NSF 372 standard) by the WQA to be lead free. WQA is an ANSI-accredited certification body. However, it hasn’t been tested and certified against NSF 42 and 53. These are the standards used to test and certify (by ANSI-accredited certification bodies) if water filters can filter out certain contaminants (e.g., particulates, chlorine, taste, odor, cysts, lead) to acceptable levels. It’s really frustrating the way overseas-made water filters are marketed here. They usually try to deceive non-technical consumers by claiming their product has been tested and certified. When you read the fine print, it’s just the materials they used that have been tested and certified. The performance of their filters (to filter out contaminants) haven’t been tested and certified. I wish the EPA and FDA would actually require water filters sold here to be tested and certified by ANSI-accredited certification bodies.
