Answer:	It is strong.. However, the fasteners that keep the seat attached to the toilet, have to be adjusted from time to time. The entire seat is covered in plastic/vinyl. Thus, I can not tell you if it has a wood or plastic core.

Best one I found was the all “Moen 1222HD Commercial Heavy-Duty Brass Shell PosiTemp One-Handle Tub Shower or Shower-Only Faucet Cartridge Replacement” worth the slightly extra cost for the all brass HD part. Answer:	It's very comfortable. If you gotta go, this is the seat to do it on :) I would recommend it.

Answer:	T. Howard answered you that these are chrome plated plastic not solid metal. T. Howard has another model than the 13CP 000 Soft Toilet Seat, or he is mistaken. I got this model and the hinges are undoubtedly solid metal, and they are chrome. I don't think that any chrome fixture is solid chrome, but rather chrome plated over a stronger metal, this is my belief. But, whether solid chrome, or chrome plate over a different metal, the hinges are most certainly solid metal. They ring when struck, and I do not know of a plastic on earth that will do that. Additionally they are appropriately heavy and I believe they would probably bend before they would break, though some inferior metals will shatter. I'm unwilling to hit them with a sledge-hammer to see if they will shatter. The entire visible hinge assembly is chrome. But herein lies the rub. I don't know if the seat should have come with a plastic fitting assembly and it was left out of the order I got, but without it (meaning plastic washers and adjusting tubular container for the bolt to pass through as it passes through the ceramic bowl, with a gripping plastic underside washer to go with either a metal bolt or I think preferably a large plastic adjustable gripping bolt) It seems unlikely that I would be expected to get this stuff independent of the seat, but maybe. Anyway without it the bare metal on the ceramic bowl is unworkable. I went ahead and mounted the seat with only whatever came with the seat. It stays tight for about 1 day then very rapidly begins increasingly shifting around on the bowl. I'm a bit germ-phobic and for that reason am extra unwilling to reach under and behind the toilet to awkwardly tighten the bolt again and again and again every day or two but I would not be willing to do that even if in a household with 2 men it magically remained sterile, it's just absurd, its falling-off loose all the time. I can NOT figure out how to contact this company Mayfair, to get a fix for this problem. So, yes all metal chrome hinges. And no, I'm not happy about it!

Answer:	We own the round bowl. Needed an extra small toilet (width and length) for our powder room. The Toto Entrada was the only toilet which would fit our tight space. I measured 26.25-inches from the back of the toilet tank to the front rim of the toilet seat. Googling other sites which carry the round bowl state the overall dimension to be 26-7/8 inches. BTW, this is a very nice toilet. Happy with our purchase. Good suction, no complaints.

Both seat and lid are soft closing to prevent loud slamming, cracked toilets or pinched fingers.

Other Brands

People accustomed to heavy, stiff wood seats may think plastic is bad, but for harsh environments such as bathrooms, high-quality plastic is much better for several reasons. Painted wood seats and vinyl-covered foam soft seats are cheaper to produce and don’t last very long. These seats usually have fewer features (no Slow Close or Quick Release), fewer bumpers (2 instead of 4), inferior plastic hinges and plastic mounting hardware. Painted wood seats can stain, chip, peel or break...usually at the plastic hinges or the wood seat itself.

Bath Royale Premium and Superior seats are made of polypropylene, is a light, relatively soft plastic that is warmer to touch than other toilet seat materials. Bath Royale uses 100% pure, non-recycled polypropylene because it is stronger and provides a beautiful high-gloss finish. Our polypropylene will flex, but is nearly impossible to break. MasterSuite Models

MasterSuite seats (BR237 elongated, BR283 round) are made of Eurocast, a high-tech polymer that is harder, heavier and stiffer than polypropylene. Eurocast is cooler to touch, extremely durable and scratch resistant. Eurocast is more porous than polypropylene, so it breathes better against the skin, but may stain if urine or dark liquids are left on the surface for long periods of time (for example, in kid's bathrooms or on the underside of the seat, where maintenance is often neglected).

Telescoping" vs "Stacked" Lid

Bath Royale's Premium Elongated toilet seat (BR606) has a "telescoping" lid that completely covers the seat when lid is closed. This looks great (very clean), but the seat is only 13.5 inches wide. If your toilet bowl is wider than 14.25 inches, you may want to consider Bath Royale's Superior (BR644-00) or MasterSuite (BR237-xx) seats which are 14+ inches wide and have traditional "stacked" lids (lid stacks evenly over the seat).

Top Mount Anchors Required?

Some 1-piece toilets or bowls with concealed trapways (flat sides or "skirted" bowl) require "top mount" anchors, sold separately on Amazon (search B0759WR3F9). Top mount anchors are required if you can't reach under the toilet seat to tighten the seat mounting hardware or wingnuts.
