Answer:	I did not like the product you bought. It did not even fit in my bathtub. But I also bought Danco Inc 10876 tub protectors and they work perfectly. I use it when I'm in the shower and the hair just naturally goes right towards it and lands right on top of it. In fact the hair sticks to it so well that it is sometimes hard to get the hair out of it. That's the only suggestion I have for you. I hope it helps.

Answer:	No, the tubshroom sits above the drain. A drain plug will not fit. It's one or the other.
Question:	Is the metallic portion with the pentagon holes hollow? Such that it could be placed over a drain plug vertical central rod
Answer:	Yes, that middle part is hollow. The rubber ring is against the pipe so the water can only flow out through the middle portion and get strained by those hexagons on the way. I don't know what the second part of your question is asking.
Question:	Does the rubber on bottom come off? not sure how to get it off if it does. worried i will break it. do the rubber parts on bottom stay in drain
Answer:	The rubber washer fits inside a groove. There's 3 sizes and they're stretchy enough to remove the one that doesn't fit and replace it with the one that fits the drain. I needed the middle one which fits the drain snugly but can lift it out easily. The whole thing sits on top of the drain cross piece so don't see how the rubber could come out and fall down the drain
Question:	how to clean the shower drain cover
Answer:	To clean, just lift the drain hair catcher out of the tub drain. I just remove the hair and wash with soap and warm/hot water and use an old brush/toothbrush to get between the holes. Takes a minute to clean at most.

Question:	How far does the center piece protrude above and below the plane of the 4.4" diameter perimeter? Total height is
Answer:	It's 4 3/4" overall, including the 1/4" silicone edging. Essentially flat, with no protrusions on underside. The edging is the only thing that keeps it from sliding away from drain hole. You could put a dab of silicone underneath to hold it, but it does catch hairs on top of very small holes and needs to be cleaned from time to time.
Question:	Is it easy to install
Answer:	Yes. The hair may be caught around the edge of it instead of on the top sometimes, but it stops all the hair.
Question:	Can this be used upside down on flat tub drains (with the grate that's flush with the tub floor) or would it be ineffective? Thanks
Answer:	You would need something to catch the hair, ESPECIALLY, if it's long . Long hair down the drain is a major cause for clogged drain pipes. If not this one, some type of drain to keep it from entering the drain pipe.

Answer:	HI Joe To answer your question of can you still use the drain stopper with the Hairbine still in place? With the pop-up stoppers that twist a quarter turn, most if not all of the brands that we tried worked normally without removing the Hairbine (note that once the drain stopper is in the down position it will not be holding the Hairbine in place anymore). If you have a pop-up stopper that has to be pushed down upon to lock and unlock its position. We have found that it is possible to keep the Hairbine in place and use the stopper normally, it's just a lot more difficult to operate and you have to push a lot harder than you would normally do so. Answer:	Hi Doterra To answer your question of will this work for a flat drain cover? The answer is yes! But I will add that the Hairbine product was not designed for a flat drain. We have found that it will work with a flat drain. Just note that if it is kicked or pushed off of the drain it will hinder its ability to catch hair. The product is heavy enough to stay in place over the drain under normal shower use and will stop hair in the same way as if installed with a pop-up. Answer:	Hi Joseph Don't worry there is no such dumb questions here. To answer your question of does the smooth side go up or down? The answer is smooth side goes up. Now remember when we refer to the smooth side we mean the side that is more complete and looks like concentric circles or like a flower. The bottom has more incomplete looking grooves. Answer:	This drain protector is much heavier than the flimsy ones you get at the big box stores. They in my opinion those nasty would have a hard time, but I would be checking for a hole in my pipe. They shouldn't be coming up like that.

Answer:	The dimensions shown are 4.5x4.5x2. It fits over my Kohler pop-up drain and it is working quite well at catching hair.

Answer:	I’m not sure about that. However I have a pretty standard drain and it seems to fit perfectly. I think because of the design it would still work even if the drain were a little smaller or a little larger.
