How to set your own code?

1. Make sure codes are set to default (0-0-0-0). Pull up the shackle and turn it to the code setting gap.

2. Push the shackle down until the tiny pin is fully inside the gap. Hold it there and turn the shackle counterclockwise to the code line.

3. Scroll the numbers to set your own combination code, making sure the numbers are completely in the windows.

4. Turn the shackle clockwise until it pops up. Remember your new combination.



Note:

To avoid damaging the lock, it's NOT recommended to turn the shackle over the code line.

Please make sure the numbers are completely in the window when setting a new combination.

Answer:	It could be that you are not opening the "set" lock properly. If that doesn't work, instructions say: "If you cannot open lock by default code "0000" try "1000" or "0001" to open again. Make sure the numbers are completely in the window when setting new combo, otherwise you may fail to set it. " Hope this works..

Question:	What is the usable lenght of the cable
Answer:	Hello, the cable, when fully open, is 3.75" long. When locked, the space between the loop and the lock is just over 1.5". Honestly, though, this lock is not my favorite. It does appear very sturdy but I have not actually used it yet. My 'beef' is with the locking mechanism itself. It's kind of difficult to get the hang of to open; even though I've entered my own combination I swear it's still locked until, magically, it opens after fiddling with it and just about getting frustrated. Answer:	The exact size the cable will pass through is 9/64 or 3.57mm. this has been checked with a drill gauge. It will NOT fit through a 1/8" hole
Question:	Is the cable easier or more difficult than the rigid locks to attach to suitcases
Answer:	I find the cables to be much easier than the rigid locks because you don't have to jiggle the whole lock around to find that magic angle that will allow it to pass through the things you are trying to lock. All in all the cable adds a few more degrees of usefulness to the traditional rigid lock style.

Answer:	Good question. I just bought one unit to try first, even though I know that my luggage and backpack will use more locks. Sounds to me like someone in sales there is asleep at the switch.
