When is open, you just set your own combination, then you lock, move the dial (Letters or numbers) so there is out pf order. When ready to open again, just lign up your combination and open. Noneed to carry keys, just remember your combo. This cables and system is very good. Nothing is 100% secure, but the idea is to make it complicated for people who like to walk with other people property, and this accomplish that goal. Hope this help. | Answer: | the bracket is a one-piece plastic housing and strap. The strap is very long and could wrap around even very wide or unusually shaped frames. the strap then runs back through a hole in the housing, where it permanently locks in place, and any excess length running out of the end of hole can be cut-off. The housing has a long, vertical channel, and the lock attaches to the bracket with a nub that slides into that channel. It's all pretty secure. I don't worry about mine falling out, ever. You do have to make sure you mount the bracket in a way to give yourself enough room to maneuver the lock and its nub into the channel when attaching/detaching. |

| Answer: | Depends on the size of the holes in the case. The Pelican Air case holes are actually designed for padlocks. Personally, I would not use a cable lock to secure a Pelican Air case unless I was securing it to another object to prevent theft, and then I would go through the padlock hasp, not the holes in the case, to prevent someone opening the case by force. |

| Answer: | You can order them keyed-alike from Master Lock directly, or have them re-keyed by a local locksmith. |

| Answer: | I'm not a locksmith, but I'm pretty sure they cannot be re-keyed. |
