Because I was installing it into drywall instead of concrete, & not all of the screw holes lined up with a stud, I just installed a piece of standard pine construction wood (3/4” or 1” x 3” or 4”) over the wall & attached the metal hardware kit to that. This allows you to attach the wood to as many studs as possible & use the strength of the wood and the studs to support the door. The kit comes with instructions for installation to concrete or drywall. The drywall instructions say to use wood as I’ve described. If I’d had the money, I would have shopped por a piece of aged wood to use to add essence. |
