Question:	How big of a hole needs to be drilled? Several different answers, please provide smallest drillbit required
Answer:	The instructions provide the size. The smallest is just a pilot hole to make the scholar easier to make. But the you only make it as wide as the inside tube.
Question:	Does this actually have a 220 degree viewing angle? 180 degrees is the most you would ever need, so I feel like the manufacturer is lying
Answer:	It is not 220 degrees. To be more than 180 degrees, you'd have to be able to see part of the door in which it's mounted 20 degrees on each side. I just installed mine and can verify that you cannot; you can't see the surface of the door at all (as is logical, since it sticks out slightly from the surface). That said, it is sufficiently wide for the purposes for which it's intended.
Question:	Im confused, on description says to use 9/16 bit but on features it says 5/8. Which bit size should i use or does it not matter
Answer:	The safest way to proceed would be to use the 9/16" bit first and see if the peep hole fits. Mine fit perfectly with that size. I never saw anything in the literature that said to use a 5/8" drill bit, but maybe you have a different style. If the 9/16" hole is too small, then compare the width of the peep hole barrel to a 5/8" drill bit and see if they're the same size. If they are, then you can just use that drill bit in the same hole you drilled with the 9/16" bit to expand it. You just don't want to make the hole too large to begin with. Better off to have it be too small and have to keep enlarging it until the peep hole fits.
Question:	Is it bluetooth
Answer:	This is not an electronic device therefore it is not Bluetooth capable.
Question:	This may seem like a stupid question, but when drilling, do you close the door and drill from the inside, drilling out? or it doesn't matter
Answer:	I drilled a 3/16" pilot hole from inside out, then took the correct size and drilled 1/2 way from inside 1/2 way from outside to avoid any splintering on either side.

So drill the same size hole and round it with the drill bit, or use a slightly larger bit like 5/8in or 15.87mm or .625 decimal. This provides a little room to insert the peephole without being too loose when installed.

Answer:	The "Matte black" is flat black, it has a dull finish. The "Black" has a high gloss finish.
Question:	The description states it works for doors up to 2-1/4" thickness but product details state up to 2-1/6". Which is the max depth
Answer:	2-1/6" would be correct. Item fits doors between 35 and 55mm thick if that helps. Using on a 2-1'4" door, despite being only 1-2 mm thicker, might prevent the two threaded sections from engaging, leaving the peephole useless. When in doubt, play it safe.

Answer:	The differences are 3 Parameters:Top Diameter which includes 4 layers of optical glass lens with the brass frames---After installation, this part can be seen from Outside.Brass Pipe Diameter---This determines the suitable door hole diamter, and this part will be inside of the door thinckness after installation.Applicable Door Thickness--The brass pipe was combined by 2 parts--An inner-threaded brass pipe and an outer-threaded brass pipe, The Combination Minimum Length and Combination Maximium Length determines the applicable door thickness. Question:	Replacing an old peephole. What is the diameter of the front and back parts of the cylinder, to make sure they are wider than the exiting hole
Answer:	Hi Ryan. The manufacturer advises that the door hole should be 5/8" in diameter and I found that to be true. The slightly smaller part screws into the larger one to a depth determined by the door width, so 5/8" would definitely be the minimum required no matter what. Not having a 5/8" bit (and preferring not to spend another $10-20 more on something for a one-time use), I simply used the 1/2" bit I did have and slowly worked it around against the edges, checking at intervals, essentially enlarging the hole just slightly to 5/8". Any irregularities around the opening are easily hidden by the very wide lip on both the interior and exterior pieces. The item works well and I've been happy with it for many months now. Good luck with whatever you decide!

Answer:	Don't recall the size bit I used but the instructions should state the size. Since you are unsure I would advise you to drill a hole in a piece of wood (not the door yet) and test it out to assure it is the size needed.

I am gkad the idiot cousin of landlady who put it in didn't do that & installed it okay. I woukd need to see mines. That seems like maybe fragile. For the $8 bucks I paid I hope it woukd not be. I need to see if mines is ok to withstand how many turns. I try to be careful with it. It is held at 1 tiny hinge part. I did not get to check it out 4 its durabilty strength thickness or hardness. I hope it is okay. I wont know till yrs or lots of time passes. I hope for yrs to come if still here 10 more yrs. I hope you get it fixed by company help if not my next guess is remove it & soder it. Answer:	I bought the black finish so don't know about the silver one. But looking at the pictures it appears to me that it is brushed silver thus more of a satin than shiny chrome finish!

Question:	Do i need internet for it by to work
Answer:	You need WiFi for sure.
Question:	Do i need a peephole to install this
Answer:	You would have to drill your own hole through the door if one does not already exist. There are instructions on sizing. You do not need to purchase a separate peephole.
Question:	Is there a battery level meter in app or ability to know the battery level via voice request to an Alexa enabled device
Answer:	There is one in the app, but it’s buried under each device, under settings, and further under device health. It’s not convenient. As far as I know, the Alexa skill does not have access to battery level info.
Question:	Does the device on the outside of the door have to be used? I have a door knocker directly beneath my peephole
Answer:	The camera lens and microphone and the door bell resides on the outside portion of the equipment

Question:	Is the view faceplate required to install the Ring peephole cam
Answer:	The peephole camera comes with its own faceplate installed. If you want this installed, you have to remove the peephole camera from the door entirely in order to remove the stock faceplate and install this one. But you don't need this faceplate if you bought the peephole camera. It comes with a stock one already installed.
Question:	How do you charge battery
Answer:	You use a charging cable to charge it you have to take the battery out to be charge
Question:	Can someone take off with this
Answer:	Technically, yes. However they are far more likely to break it since it does require some effort/finesse to get off. Having it installed on the door makes it difficult to get enough leverage on the edges you need to pry apart to get it to come off easily. Plus they would have to stand in direct view of the camera for quite a bit which is a deterrent.
Question:	How do you remove the stock faceplate to install this
Answer:	I'm squeezing but not coming off.....

Question:	Does it require wifi
Answer:	No, it does not. It has its own screen which is attached to the peep hole lens that comes with the product. Once it is attached and the internal rechargeable battery is charged you have to push on a button to see who is on the other side of the door. So far it is working great for me.

Answer:	batteries are included, built-in and rechargeable via USB port.

Answer:	I bought one and it’s a internal rechargeable battery. It’s very nice for the price. I have it at my garage entry door so I don’t use it much but it does come in handy when needed.
