Answer:	First of all make sure your using alkaline batteries for some reason they work the best with these.. check and make sure that all of your holes are lined up with the lock.. if they're not lined up properly sometimes the combination lock will not work right..

Answer:	Latch plate alignment is a problem with all sorts of locks. When I upgrade passage sets in my house I often find it necessary to file the plate to get alignment correct. And I do the same with exterior locksets at a commercial facility that I help to manage, including the installation of thousand dollar Trilogy locks. The alignments of different manufacturers' locksets can't be assumed. Just sayin...

Question:	How do you unlock the lock (from the outside) if the batteries die
Answer:	There is a usb port on the lock
Question:	What happens if the locking mechanism stops working? Can you remove it and manually unlock the bolt from the door like an analog tumbler

Answer:	This IS a radio remote like a "clicker" except that it is a keypad. One enters a programmed code to operate the garage door rather than just push a button. As with a "clicker", the device must be registered with the garage door operator. Sounds to me like you're very confused. This is NOT an operator, it is a radio frequency control just like a clicker. I urge you to obtain the assistance of someone who is knowledgeable in this area.

Answer:	How old is your garage door opener? I had that same problem and found out that my older garage door opener (15+ years old) only allowed 2 clicker types units to be programed/used at a time. This means when I added the keypad clicker, it bumped off one of my remotes from working. Sounds to me like this is what is happening to you. I am sure the newer units don't have this problem

Answer:	Is the keyboard lighting up? If not make sure batteries are inserted correctly. Did you create your own pin number correctly? If not use the factory set pin number. If all above is working Check to make deadbolt is lining up with door jam. Next reassemble and make sure lock assembly is inserted correctly. Other than that just send back for new lock.

Answer:	Haven’t had to change batteries yet, installed couple months ago. On our previous house we changed the batteries around 8 month’s, it beeped after locking when batteries were low

Answer:	Of course yes, the auto-lock feature automatically re-locks your doors, by default, in 30s after unlocking. But if you wanna disable the auto-lock function, you can change it in just simple 4 steps. Before operation, you need to make sure the lock is unlocked and the door is opened, then (1) enter your existing programming code; (2) Press TACKLIFE button, you will hear one beep; (3) Press 5; (4) Press TACKLIFE button again. You will hear two beeps if the change successed, otherwise, three beeps will indicate the chage in unsuccessful.

When you install the exterior keypad, you need to position the tailpiece on the back HORIZONTALLY. If the tailpiece is positioned incorrectly, the interior knob will not rotate or operate the lock. Answer:	I purchased 1 online and one from the Xfinity store and was able to pair them both to my Xfinity Home hub without issues. I need 1 more but I'll get it from the Xfinity Store because it's a bit less expensive. I love these locks!
Question:	Can you use this to prevent children going outside at night
Answer:	The Kwikset 99130-002 SmartCode 913 does not have Alexa built in and since it is a Z-Wave protocol device, it will not work with any of the hub-enabled Echo devices. However, if you get a Z-Wave compatible hub, such as Samsung Smartthings hub, you can incorporate that into your network (pretty easy), then you can tell (or ask) Alexa to lock the door. I hope this helps.
Question:	can the autolock delay be set to 10 minutes
Answer:	That is probably best asked of Kwikset who can be reached at their website. My opinion is that if it can be subjected directly to moisture (rain, snow) and extreme temperatures that would be a problem since the keypad is on the outside. The main electronics are in the inside unit and would thereby be protected. I have one installed on my front door but it is protected by a storm door and roof over the front stoop. If practical the installation of a storm door would probably give it the necessary protection.

Answer:	You should add window film to the inside of the window that will prevent thieves from being able to break the window.

How do you know when the battery is getting low?

How to reset successfully?

The "Turnpiece" must be vertical and the latch must be in the unlocked position when installing.

At last, the latch bolt will extend to learn the orientation of the door. This means reset successfully.
