Answer:	Once you put the regular toilet seat on top, you put in the long screw and tighten it beneath the toilet bowl. It takes a little maneuvering but I got it on very securely and it seems to be locked.

Answer:	I wouldn't say, "easily" but it is not too difficult albeit a bit of a nuisance. You have to take off your toilet seat in order to put on the elevated seat. If it wobbles you might want to use some heavy duty Velcro to anchor it more firmly. All in all it is not very difficult but you have to reverse the process in order to remove it.

Answer:	The cleaning instructions tell the user to wipe it, not immerse it in water. I don't believe this was designed to be waterproof. My opinion is that it would not be a good choice for a shower chair because of the stitching. The water would probably leak through.

Answer:	T. Howard answered you that these are chrome plated plastic not solid metal. T. Howard has another model than the 13CP 000 Soft Toilet Seat, or he is mistaken. I got this model and the hinges are undoubtedly solid metal, and they are chrome. I don't think that any chrome fixture is solid chrome, but rather chrome plated over a stronger metal, this is my belief. But, whether solid chrome, or chrome plate over a different metal, the hinges are most certainly solid metal. They ring when struck, and I do not know of a plastic on earth that will do that. Additionally they are appropriately heavy and I believe they would probably bend before they would break, though some inferior metals will shatter. I'm unwilling to hit them with a sledge-hammer to see if they will shatter. The entire visible hinge assembly is chrome. But herein lies the rub. I don't know if the seat should have come with a plastic fitting assembly and it was left out of the order I got, but without it (meaning plastic washers and adjusting tubular container for the bolt to pass through as it passes through the ceramic bowl, with a gripping plastic underside washer to go with either a metal bolt or I think preferably a large plastic adjustable gripping bolt) It seems unlikely that I would be expected to get this stuff independent of the seat, but maybe. Anyway without it the bare metal on the ceramic bowl is unworkable. I went ahead and mounted the seat with only whatever came with the seat. It stays tight for about 1 day then very rapidly begins increasingly shifting around on the bowl. I'm a bit germ-phobic and for that reason am extra unwilling to reach under and behind the toilet to awkwardly tighten the bolt again and again and again every day or two but I would not be willing to do that even if in a household with 2 men it magically remained sterile, it's just absurd, its falling-off loose all the time. I can NOT figure out how to contact this company Mayfair, to get a fix for this problem. So, yes all metal chrome hinges. And no, I'm not happy about it!

Answer:	Yes, it fit a moderately elongated toilet. However, it is to be bolted on in place of the standard seat. Not very stable- I had to modify it to make it safe for my wife. Better alternatives out there.

Answer:	Mine does not have arms. I bought separate arms that are height adjustable. The hinged riser is best because it is easier to clean and men who stand to pee can use the toilet.

Answer:	Yes, this product includes (x2) long bolts that will allow for you to reattach your toilet seat and cover to the riser. Excellent elongated riser. Don't be afraid of using (x2) risers together to increase the seat height. You can buy an 8' or 10 bolt if needed to affix the risers, seat and cover to the toilet. I bought plastic wrap used for shipping to joi9n the two risers together by wrapping completely around then several times so that urine can not get between the risers. I am using now and it works great. I wish I could have found someone to recommend this but instead I had to conceptualize solution myself. Glad I did. You may want to purchase the Tall-Ette Total Hip Replacement Elevated Toilet Seat with Bolt-Down Lock-In-L-Bracket from Amazon. I did and it works great after my total hip replacement. Answer:	Less - width is 13 3/4" from side to side as it sits on top of toilet bowl. Including arms width is 21 1/4" wide. Hope this helps.

Answer:	If my memory is correct it has no latch on the lip. What it has is long bolts that go through the back and your seat sits on top. I sent mine back. Not because of that because it was too high for my mother

Answer:	While the paper work and the website say that you can use your existing seat and cover assembly, that is only "kind of" true. The long bolts for the seat riser are designed to pass through the seat hinge, and if you have a new "click to connect" or "flip to lock" seat hinge, it will not work. You must use a old style seat hinge set up that has bolt holes in it. I end up using a seat assembly with a plastic hinge to make it easier to drill out the bolt hole to accommodate the large lag bolts that are supplied with the Vive seat riser assembly. If you have an older seat set up, it will probably work just fine, but if you have a modern seat with the quick disconnect feature, it will not work. All that said, even with having to get a new cheap $19.95 toilet seat to go with this , it only took about 15 minutes to install, and once installed, it is quite sturdy.
