Answer:	Smells horrid, like acrid oil paint. I can't use it and I usually like natural lotions, but the scent of this is unbearably strong and pungent.

Answer:	AA batteries are required to operate the thermostat. The 'C' wire can be connected but the thermostat will not function without the batteries.

There are 2 warnings for battery power, but instructions say to replace batteries yearly even without seeing warning. If changed quickly, you don't lose anything, but they say you don't lose programming-only date and time if slow like me!

Answer:	Should fit...on center means center to center. So 24" on center is 22½" in between.

Answer:	Yes, but it's a tight fit. The wooden frame is 21 3/4" wide, so while it will fit in a 22" joist bay, there's little tolerance for adjustment. Your joists had better be parallel in both directions. Mine were a little out of whack in both directions, so I had to make tapered shims to compensate. One hint: check for squareness of the assembly by closing the stairs and seeing if the door cover (presumed to be a rectangle) lines up.

Answer:	Rather than risking your safety and welfare on an old unit, buy a new one. The ladder wood dries out with heat and old age, the hardware gets bent and loose. Probably one spring broke so they removed the other. How does it stay closed with no springs? My hardware and spring arms were getting very loose and the steps would crunch when you stepped on them from being dry. Weigh the risk $86 and free shipping for a new unit. At least that's what it was when I bought mine. Every time I use it now I ask myself why didn't I do this 15 years ago

Answer:	No, they are not "generic" enough. They are manufacturer specific. If your ladder was not made after 2010 you should not order these.

Answer:	Can't recall but can tell u that this beast starts sagging something terrible after a year or two. It's too heavy for its springs.

However, before I purchased this ladder, I called the Louisville Ladder folks, and I suggest you call them before you buy.

Question:	Can this work for other places except attic access
Answer:	I would say only if it doesn't interfere with the zipper. You want it to be a tight fit for sure, our fit just right with out cutting. You are to use a staple gun to keep it in place.
Question:	What is the R rating of this insulation
Answer:	Found this same item at a big box store, R-value is listed as 14.5. I'm guessing the 15.4 is a typo.
Question:	How about the quality? Is the zipper easy to break
Answer:	I was able to staple to the two x four framing around the stairway. I think that as long as you have most of the edges stapled down you will see a vast improvement in the insinulation qualities this product provides. I think it took 15 minutes to put it in and it has helped tremendously, both winter and summer.
Question:	How thick is the cover in inches or mm
Answer:	Not sure about the r rating but it defiantly works. It’s 50$ what you got to loose

Answer:	You could view this device as a Relay Activated wifi switch. There is a relay inside that closes when the correct signal is applied. Closing the contacts on the relay allows the door to activate open/close. The two piece halleffect (Magnetic) sensor is available to independently indicate when the door is open or closed. Main Unit Device housing has a blue and a red LED indicator. For my system, Blue LED indicates garage door is closed. Red LED indicates garage door is open.
Question:	I have an older set of wood pulldowns , the company is gone, are these generic enough to use on any / a different wood ladder
Answer:	The unit connects to the manual wall switch that opens and closes the door. As far as I know that includes all garage openers.
Question:	Hello does this product come with the pivot plates where the lag bolts go, because my plates are damaged
Answer:	I would avoid buying this. The software is terrible. It does not function in google like a door or light. So google home has no idea if your door is open or closed. You have to go into the app itself to see. If you say Hey google, open garage door, it will ask for a pin number but the app wont allow one to be set. Since google doesnt know if door is up or down, the loophole for the pin number is to say Close Garage Door to open and close it.
Question:	I have a older set pre- 2010 yet your picture for 2010 and over looks like the correct set? My hinge has that square box with the hinge -to pivot
Answer:	HI, yes, you must control your garage door separately! One of our controllers can only be used in one lifter!

Question:	How is this installed exactly
Answer:	There is usually an I bolt already in your attic ladder pull down door. Just remove the I bolt and then screw the kit provided threaded bolt into the back of the brass loop and push the other end of the threaded bolt through the existing hole the existing I bolt came out in your attic pull down door. Next place the kit provided washer and nut on the other end of the threaded bolt and tighten down with an adjustable wrench or small socket wrench. You should not need the cup hook supplied in the kit. The cup hook is there as an alternative way to install a hook if you don’t have the I bolt version. The existing I bolt usually is where the pull down cord is tied. I changed out two and they work very, very well. Hope this helps.

Answer:	This is not the spring system. It is just what is pictured, a loop hook for pulling down the ladder and a long handled tool to pull the loop, including a small hook to hang the tool on. It replaces the chain you use to pull down the ladder. If the ladder is in a visible place, it looks much neater and nicer.

Answer:	No, they are not "generic" enough. They are manufacturer specific. If your ladder was not made after 2010 you should not order these.

Answer:	Yes they do, but the hole pattern is different from what I had. The "newer" pivot plates were smaller. I had to drill out the pivot pins and use harden bolts and washers to mount my older style plates.

Answer:	All hinges have a pivot point, the 55-1 uses a 5/16" x 3" lag screw to replace the pivot point. The 55-2 and the 55-1 are different and not interchangable. Werner ladder is the manufacturer, and the correct replacement part for a pre-2010 Werner ladder is a 55-1. This is for a Werner ladder only, if it is manufactured after 2010 you need a 55-2.
