Answer:	I have never tried it. I use it for robes, bath towels, and hanging my travel toiletry case when packing. The hand towels may slip off as the hook is blunt and squared off and the towels are light in weight.

Answer:	There is a bracket that is screwed into the wall or door where the hook is to be placed. If you are attaching to a wall, you will need to hit a stud or use wall anchors. If you are attaching to a door, you will need wood screws instead of the screws that come with the unit. Once you have mounted the bracket, the hook fits onto the bracket and a small set screw is used to tighten the hook to the bracket. Result is, no visible screws. Very sleek.
