Key points about Franklin PVA glues:
Woodworking: Franklin PVA glues are often used in woodworking for tasks such as joining pieces of wood, laminating wood surfaces, and assembling wooden structures. They create a strong bond between wood surfaces when properly applied and clamped together.
Versatility: These glues are versatile and can be used on various porous surfaces, including wood, paper, cardboard, and fabric. They are available in different formulations, including white glue and yellow glue, which have varying open times and bond strengths.
Drying Time: Franklin PVA glues typically have relatively short drying times, which can vary depending on the specific product and environmental conditions. Users can choose between fast-drying and slow-drying options based on their project requirements.

Answer: | This is for the 16oz bottle. Search the skew (521742). They're charging four times what'd you pay at a Home Depot or Lowes for the same quantity. The photo is deceptive. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Would this work on gluing suede or other fabrics to wood |
Answer: | I don't build Bows but I know of people that do and they use it. I use it in woodworking and if it's not an oily wood and you have tight joints, the glue is stronger than the wood it holds. you can also ask the bond company them selfs; I have written to them about questions and within a day or two have heard back from them. |
Question: | is this glue good for gluing the leg of a table |
Answer: | Yes. Is is a "type 1 water proof glue"......It IS NOT an epoxy. It is not for sheathing planking ..No glue ever made is "water proof" "for below the waterline " ..glue joints, any/all glue joints should not be "continuously exposed" to water. The dried/cured glue should reside in clamped tight joints and should be covered with layers of caulking and hard enamel paint, or alternaltively, sheathed in epoxy resin...Titebond 3 is an excellent glue for boat building ..Before anyone builds a boat and gets in it their woodworking (and reading comprehension) skills should be up to par |
Question: | Can this glue adhere beads to wood |
Answer: | I don't know why you would want to keep a jar of glue 5-10 years. I would purchase smaller quantities on a "use as needed" basis. However, if you keep it in a moderate, non freezing temperature, well sealed, it would probably be ok for a few years. I have found most glues I have forgotten on the back shelf to be ready to be thrown away. I would not take the chance of using a 10 yr. old glue. |
Question: | Am filling a hole with wood to hold a hinge. current screw doesn't grab anymore. Is this strong enough |
Answer: | In my experience, absolutely. Water-resistant and really strung. I have used it for 25+ years for all sorts of wood projects including 10-12 cutting boards. FYI, my Sealy Mattress plant used Franklin to assemble box spring frames along with staples and we did not have wood separation at the joints. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Can you use my is glue for a mirror wooden leg |
Answer: | Just be sure to allow glue to cure before exposing piece to water (or severe moisture)!!!!!! |
Question: | Is this glue apprpriate for gluing a bottom chair brace intp the chair leg |
Answer: | This is a poor choice for gluing glass to anything . I'd use a silicon caulk / glue instead . |
Question: | How can I get the glue out of the bottle and it new |
Answer: | Below 50 degrees any PVA (polyvinyl acetate/yellow or white glue) doesn't develop as strong a bond and takes days to set. As this product contains a certain amount of water, it is suggested that your glue be set in a mild temperature. |
Question: | This advertisement says $10 for 36 ounce bottle? I'm buying this now incase it was a mistake and grabbing that deal |
Answer: | I assume you mean "is it safe for pets?" Although ingestion should be avoided and a poison center or vet should be called as a precaution, This glue is indeed considered non-toxic and therefore generally safe for pets. In regards to wood glue that is unsafe for pets; Be sure to avoid glues that foam as they dry, like Gorilla Glue and other polyurethane glues (avoid any glue that contains diphenylmethane diisocyanate - also known as MDI - as the active ingredient). The foaming/expanding glues will expand after ingested and can form a blockage in your pets digestive tract requiring surgery. |

User questions & answers
Question: | Assuming this is safe for wooden toys since non toxic formula. Can someone confirm |
Answer: | You have to trust someone. If it says non toxic, use it. I grew up surrounded by lead paint, DDT, and others, and I'm a healthy 83 years. Don't mean to minimize a potential danger, but we can't all live in a vacuum. |
- Setting time 10-30 minutes, depending on temperature and moisture of wood.
- Allow 24 hours for full strength bond.
- Non-toxic, non-flammable
- Water clean-up.
- It's the first one-part glue to pass Type II water resistant testing.
User questions & answers
Question: | I just opened this glue and it doesn't pour, the consistency of hard soft serve ice cream or hard paste wax, anyone else run into this |
Answer: | I'd say there is something wrong. Is it very cold... like less than 40 degrees? If definitely shouldn't be the consistency of paste wax. It's more like a Steak and Shake milkshake. |
Question: | Where can you buy 16 oz Titebond empty glue bottles with caps |
Answer: | Buy the aftermarket bottles at Amazone... They work great and keep the glue fresh. |
Question: | Would it bond two sheets of cork |
Answer: | Yes, I think it will. Cork is actually a very porous lightweight wood. You might consider a sheet of 3/4" plywood with some weights to prevent warping as it drys. |
Question: | Is this the kind of wood glue that can be use to clean vinyl records as what I saw on Youtube |
Answer: | Yes, I’ve used it successfully several times. |

User questions & answers
Question: | I am putting a new piece of wood to an old dresser top. Is this a good product for that |
Answer: | I suppose it would, but it depends on the purpose...if the wine corks are just meant to be decorative then almost any glue would work. But if the corks are going to see any pressure on them after installation I'd probably use 2-part quickset epoxy (ie, 5-minute). Also, depending on how many corks you plan to glue on, only mix as much epoxy as you can use before it starts to set up. Experiment. |
Question: | Is this glue stainable |
Answer: | Dried Film Light Brown |
Question: | can it be use for exterior use, like on a cedar deck |
Answer: | I realize this is an old question, but...some overly complex answers there! Yes this is the strongest of the titebond 1,2, or 3. So its strong enough for sure, but still not the best option. As one of the other answers points out titebond 3 has a short open time, so I'd recommend going with a glue that has a longer open time so have time to do adjusting/clamping/shaping.... Also look for a glue that has low 'creep' to reduce spring back, and use as many laminations as you can. I'd recommend either an epoxy, such as SystemThree or a urea resin such as Unibond 800 for structural glue-lams. Both have rigid glue lines, are gap filling, and have long open-times. |
Question: | Do you think this would work well for regluing an acoustic guitar bridge |
Answer: | Cleanup with water but when it dries get out the sandpaper. Have used it in a laminated bench that has set out three years summer thru winter. |

User questions & answers
Question: | On E7310's product description, it says ANSI Type 1 waterproof. It is not soluble in water after dry. right |
Answer: | I've never glued drywall and prefer to use the recommended placement of it using drywall screws or nails. This has a drying time when using it. Do not know how to stabilize the drywall in place if you were to glue it. Although I think it would hold, once dry, I wouldn't recommend it. |
Question: | Hi, I'm trying to glue a mirrow to the hutch part of my desk. Do you think this will work and not fall apart on me |
Answer: | This product has an average shelf life of two years if unopened. |
Question: | What is the lowest temperature the glue can set at |
Answer: | You will still need nails to hit the wall joists. The glue will work, but it will eventually pull the layer of paint or Sheetrock paper from the wall. Glue is mainly used in corners where molding like chair rails meet each other. |
Question: | Is this pet friendly |
Answer: | This is very good glue, but I do not know if it will hold under water. I use this glue for exterior wood projects and I am satisfied for my use. |

Product description
The product that started it all. Original Gorilla Glue built a name for itself with its incredible, industrial holding power and versatility. The water activated polyurethane formula expands into materials to form an incredibly strong bond to virtually anything. Gorilla Glue is a 100% waterproof glue, safe for indoor and outdoor use and strong enough to stand up to the elements. Gorilla Glue’s your solution for almost any project or repair. Sand it, paint it, stain it. Simply stated, it’s the Toughest Glue on Planet Earth. Directions: 1. Prepare and Dampen the Surfaces: All surfaces must be clean, dust free and tight fitting. For shiny surfaces, such as metals, glass and some plastics, roughen up the material to give the glue something to bite into. Lightly dampen one surface with water. We recommend using a damp cloth or spraying with water. Do not saturate the surface. For dense hardwoods, lightly dampen both surfaces prior to gluing. 2. Evenly Apply Gorilla Glue Onto the Dry Surface. Carefully apply onto the dry surface. Do not over apply. We recommend wearing gloves or spreading the glue with a disposable brush. 3. Clamp the Two Surfaces Together Tightly. Make sure the clamping pressure is distributed evenly across the surface. Or, if you don’t have a clamp, use heavy objects or Gorilla Tape to achieve the appropriate clamping pressure. Clamp objects for 1–2 hours. For best results, allow 24 hours to cure. 4. Clean up: If you need to remove any uncured “squeeze out” or wet glue, we recommend wiping with a dry cloth or using a standard paint thinner. Once the glue is dry, it is best removed mechanically: Try sanding, chiseling, scraping or picking. 5. Storage Tips: After each use, wipe the bottle’s lid and nozzle clean with a dry cloth. While still squeezing, tightly replace the cap and then store in a cool, dry place. You should expect a year shelf life. User questions & answers
Question: | I need this for guitar finger board, fret slot's are too wide (about 2 inches too wide) will this glue cover/fill |
Answer: | Hide glue is not at all appropriate for that application (filling fret slots). Cyano thin is much better working with saw dust. Pack the slot with same color or type of wood then drop in the cyano. Use as little as possible. |
Question: | Is this strong enough to repair a broken guitar neck, after being applied and tightly clamped until dry |
Answer: | The short answer is yes, this glue is strong enough for a guitar neck. The long answer is hide glue was the only glue available for centuries so it has plenty of strength. However, in this case it really depends on the orientation of the break, where it is and what caused it. 1) If the wood used for the neck is bad wood then the wood failed and no glue will hold for long2) If the break is across the grain of the wood, rather than along it, then no glue will work to hold it together3) If the break is in a location that's the wood is thin then the wood probably wasn't strong enough and no glue will work4) If the break is at a joint, where 2 pieces of wood meet, you may not be able to easily repair it; if you are able to repair it, all the old glue (unless it's hide glue) needs to be removed from the wood so you have a clean surface to glue up |
Question: | What shade of brown is this glue |
Answer: | It's a translucent light brown. |
Question: | Can this be used to glue a violin nut? Can it detach easily ? Thanks |
Answer: | This is a very good glue. I have pieces attached with this glue over ten years; however, I don't know how much stress will have with the violin nut. But if ...it is to hold the nut in place I believe would work. |
