User questions & answers

Question: Can these detect if my washer and dryer have finished, and send me an alert by turning on a light or through Alexa
Answer: 2842-222 is the original Insteon motion sensor, now discontinued. 2844-222 is the new (upgraded/improved) "Motion Sensor II" however it looks like perhaps an error in the Amazon product title here. If you have used the old model, you should find most of the same features here, however some configuration settings can only be modified via the iOS/Andriod app for the current-gen Insteon Hub. As of this writing, Universal Devices has not yet added support for isy994i controllers, but it is on the way (you can still link it manually to your other insteon devices though if using an ISY controller)
Question: Can this this be used to determine if its device turned on just as the circuit breaker tripped
Answer: Documentation states: 32 to 104 F or 0 to 40 C
Question: I bought a pair of these on amazon, but the amazon app isn’t letting me create a review. why would that be? both plugs that i bought have failed
Answer: I doubt it. Insteon and Zigbee are different technologies.
Question: Does wemo works with Apple Homekit
Answer: As already mentioned, the motion-activated snapshot feature is incorporated into a lot of modern web ip cameras (including the insteon cameras), so if you already have a camera it's worth checking the configuration settings to see if it supports something like this already. If you're looking for something a bit more advanced, and have a computer that you can run camera monitoring software on, there's a range of 3rd party software available (Blue Iris is a popular one, that we've used ourselves) that can do complex triggering/notifications/recording/etc based on motion detected just within specific areas of the camera's field of view, etc.
