Answer:	re: Something seems off about this? No, absolutely not. The math is fairly simple. 10 cup capacity means only fill the filer with 10 cups, not 16 cups. The filter is a 10 cup filter and not any more. Accordingly you should never put in more that 10 cups of water in at a time, i.e. DO NOT fill the filter with 16 cups of water at a time because it IS NOT DESIGNED to hold 16 cups - only 10 cups.

Answer:	Only the long last filter and the one for the tap itself filter out lead. I went to their website. That settled it for me. This is an older apt bldg and who knows what pipes and solder joints there are. I will get the 10 cup with a long last filter.

Answer:	So it’s not about how hard you press. On the side of the filter you should notice a groove that goes up the filter higher than the rest. If you look closely at the hole the filter sits in you will see a plastic piece that runs up the side of the hole. Line those up, slide it in, give it some firm pressure for seal and the lid should fit. You can’t put the filter in any ‘ole direction. Took me about 45 minutes to figure out. And yes, once properly adjusted the water filters at a snail’s pace compare to how it runs when not properly fitted.

Answer:	As far as I know, there are 2 orifices on the bottom of the filter. One is for the water to flow through the filter before flowing. There other is a connector to the base. The filtered water flows out the bottom of the unit.

Answer:	I've found older filter version to be incompatible with this pitcher model due to a rift in pitcher where the filter sits. The newer filters have an indent that sits on this rift, a feature not seen with older filters. So I believe new filters work with old pitcher models but old filters will not work with newer pitcher models.

Answer:	The box or instructions for the filters states a filter will last approximately 40 gallons of water or 2 months for the "average" family. I don't know what the average family actually is these days. It depends on how much water you go through. But for me, it's still working great and I have the filter in there for more then 2 months. Answer:	Yes, I think so but have no data to prove it. I have chlorinated, city water and I do not detect any taste or smell of chlorine.

Answer:	10 inches high by 10.5 inches wide (includes the handle) and 4.5 inches across the top of the pitcher at the widest part of the cover.
