Answer:	A 9V battery is fine. If something smoked, it is likely due to polarity reversal, either the transistor was installed backwards or the battery was connected backwards.

Answer:	No I don't... If I remember, it was a little tricky to understand the instructions I did get... I basically followed pictures... Also, mine has its volume all the way cranked up.. You can probably hear it next door... Note the volume isn't adjustable... So I don't use that feature...

Question:	How do you turn on the chime and off? How you go to the This time section
Answer:	When you are setting the time and come around to the flashing colon use the up down to turn off the chime.. the upper two legs will be off. The one with the alarm pic is showing the alam is set .. set them all to 00:00 it will go out. The one to the right of the alarm I s a clock face when it is off the chimes are off.

Function:

1. Long press the Confirm button (Left key) to enter or exit the menu functions list.

2. Short press the Next key(Right key) to select the different functions, the functions menu has TIME(Time setup), DATE(Date setup), ALARM(Alarm setup), FONT(Font type), DISP(Set transition animation), Midp(Middle point turn effect), FMT(Set 24/12H format), BRH(Set the date of birth remind), Brig(Brightness). And then press the Confirm button(Left key) to enter in parameters mode.

Question:	Where are the instructions and main IC chip
Answer:	It did not come with instructions or with a chip. If you can return it, do it!
Question:	My issue is that my clock is running fast, how do I correct that issue
Answer:	Mine too my friend. I own 4! My red one is perfect, green, blue, and white run way fast. I am going to try a new crystal once they arrive. Then a ds1302 chip after that. I will let you know what I find. In the meantime, contact seller for a refund. They are sending me a new clock, but I don't think it will be right either. Gotta complain so they know the manufacturer has a problem.

Question:	What is the voltage for the watch
Answer:	The clock comes with a USB cable that can be used with a phone charger that outputs 5 volts DC. For example an Apple phone charger or an Android phone charger that outputs 5 volts DC will work.
Question:	What is the best way to learn about the components that are used in this product? What they do, how, how to understand the schematics
Answer:	This product is a great way to learn. If you google the ICs you can download the datasheet for the 2 chips. 1 is a small time saver ic. Very simple to use. You could look at an arduno board. It is a great way to start with a lot of documentation, and functionally. The people with problems with this simple product, didn't take the time to do it correctly, and or reading the instructions. One of the segment displays needs to be upside down, and is in the instructions and marked on the board. It is the 3rd from the left. Easy project, to practice soldering and learning about components. Make sure transistors are in the correct direction, its marked on the board. Make sure the chip sockets are the correct orentation. If you solder them in backwards just make sure the Chip is in the right location on the board. Simple.
Question:	What did I do wrong if the screen doesnt render numbers correctly
Answer:	Check for bad solder joints, check that all the pins are correctly inserted if it has a socket, pins can curl under and not go in the hole. Check each component for polarity, (direction of placement on board). You could have a bad nixie light, but not likely. I've done 9 of these with zero errors.
