Answer:	just lift the bag with the scale. I did notice that one reviewer mentioned the handle on the scale was too small but I haven't had that problem. The only problem I could foresee is if the hook was too small for the handle of the bag you're trying to weigh in which case I would use a short strap around the handle.

Answer:	I tested it using canned food products with labeled weights - it would randomly vary 1 to 3 oz. more or less than the indicated weight. Bluegill and Brim bread or homemade dough-balls work the best. Now let's talk about hooking the fish, the most important thing is to make sure your fishing line is taught meaning NO SLACK in the line another thing is you don't want to wait to long to set the hook because you run the chance of "gut hooking" the fish and killing it. For bigger fish like Bass and Catfish once you feel the fish pulling on the line, have your rod tip pointed around 10 o clock or 2 o clock and in one Quick motion jerk/pull the rod back hard to the 12 o clock position setting the hook. Now all you have to do is reel him in.
